I like to just vacuform parts right over my body. Yeah, the hot styrene burns the first time, but once you build up a layer of blisters you hardly notice with all the nerve damage.
Yeah, there's cheaper foams availiable, sure. But they don't finish as nice out of the machine as the Renshape. It all depends what is more valuable to you, time/labor or money- because you're trading one for the other. The grittier foam takes a lot more work to prep for painting/molding.
Undersuit is still a work in progress. Biceps have been re-worked and are being detail sculpted by Slavefive. We will post pictures of those tomorrow.
These are the re-scaled and modified biceps as they were being finished by the cnc.
If you look closely, you can see that the shape has changed with a more tapered look. As well, they have been reduced in size.
We cnc'd the biceps again and came up with this. Slavefive has started carving in the details and doing clean up. These are pictures of the rough polyester primered foam parts prior to sanding and seaming.
