UPDATE,

AUGUST 8, 2009

Not a lot done. Got the Warthog back in the shop finally after a week of being home taking care of person stuff (divorce). I have mainly just been working on welding more on the roof, i got the outer parts welded last time in not the inside portion of it. I am getting ready to break out the sawsall tomorrow and do a little trimming on the FT. I think the 2" x 4" part in the ft needs to be wider and the 2" x 2" tube on each side of it need to be a little more upward angle. This will be the last of my backtracking on it. Once completed on this part i am moving to working on the sides and making the 2" x 2" frame work in the rear for floor to sit on. I also plan on taking the engine/trans out of my 55 chevy gasser for right now(it's on hold for the divorce anyways) and will be next in line after the Warthog is done.

Well since you guys are so amazing the only thing I could probably ever pull off is the fricken mongoose lol. I actually might try that once I go to UTI. Really great progress man. Bookmarking this! And if you ever decide to build another one, give me a call. ;)

EDIT: BTW you should also invest in a kick-a stereo system. I'm thinking like all Rockford Fosgate with 2x 10"... yeah that would just make this thing even beastlier. Oh and don't forget the Kenwood insert. xD

I will have something in there. Got to have something to blast out "BLOOD GULCH BLUES"

Dude, it's looking good! Is there anyone helping you? I bet you could go a lot faster, especially when it gets to making the shell.

Had my dad out there once or twice but it's been mostly a lone wolf project.

Got the FT end cut off and the new one cut out and tack welded into place. The new end follows the Warthog lines a lot better then what i had. Even got to widen that center part by couple of inches like i wanted too.

If you keep up the same quality of work that you've had so far, this Warthog will probably hold the title of 'The Best Real-Life Replica' for quite a long time.

What do you for a living? Seems like you have to travel a lot...

A foreign rare-spice deliverer!

LOL, not quite. Up till i made it home this time i worked offshore (jack up oil rig) in Saudi Arabia for the last 3 years, was told my first week home i was being reassigned. Not offical yet but suppose to be put on a rig going to Egypt as assistant mechanic. Just have to wait and see.

Got the Warthog back in the shop and back at it. I got the FT two braces welded in and welded in the back frame work where the gunner will stand. Hope to get the sides put in tomorrow where you get in the Warthog. Then on to the back drops.
