Lighting a Helmet

I have just finished a Mark VI Helm, and am looking into installing a lighting system with an internal "press on press off" button switch. When I first attempted this with cheap LEDS from a Radioshack, It predictably fizzled out. Anyone have advice on how to wire a helmet?

yes you need a resistor. you are running to much current through the led and it burns them out you can fin a resistor calculator by just a simple google search!
