The Witch King and a Queen

This young woman handing out candy insisted on getting her picture taken with Joshua. I think she also said to him, "I can kill you because I'm a woman."

That right pauldron is misbehaving a bit. I may try to adjust how it is glued down. To attach the pauldrons, I had to make a foam gorget (a shoulder and neck piece) and hide it under scraps of black fabric. Straps are just were not reliable. More pictures to come after Halloween.

That's quite awesome. You do exactly what I want to do for my kid/s one day. I just looked at the Arbiter and Sauron builds and I was really impressed, And this one is my favorite. I think I want to make my own Witch King now. As for the comment that women said, It gave me quite a good laugh!

Incredible job, especially on such a short timeframe. I almost think I'd be more terrified of a kid-sized Witch King than an adult-sized one. I used that foam putty in my latest as well, although you have me curious about that hot wire foam cutter. I had read somewhere those didn't work well with EVA foam, but they seemed to work pretty well here.

Looks very awsome nicly done love the finishing touch with the good day (might not be corect name was a literal translation from dutch) weapon

The hot wire foam cutter really helped with beveled edges. It would have helped so much on my Sauron build last year with those spikes on the helm. An Xacto scalpel was still my primary cutting tool. After the pieces were cut out of the foam sheets, I used the hot wire suspended at a 45 degree angle to mitre underside edges when needed. I did notice that the thicker the foam the hotter you have to have the wire to get a nice cut. I could never get consistent beveled cuts in the past with a utility knife (even with an angle guide).

Recently moved and started new job. Didn't have time to make a new costume this year. Fortunately, Joshua still fits in his Witch King costume from 2013. Had some damage to the helm in the move that I had to repair.

Joshua won FIRST place in the kids costume contests at Sci-Quest AND at the Huntsville Rocket Center. Here he is with Link at SCI-QUEST.
