A man dressed as a video game superhero had a scare in Winnipeg Friday morning when he was stopped by a group of police officers wanting to check his weapons.

From far away the man dressed in olive drab Halo armor looked exactly like the man who raided a movie theater in the middle of the night wearing black tactical armor. Makes perfect sense to me.

at least they didn't shoot first and ask questions after. i bet he's glad that a frisk down and weapon check was the worst of his brush with the law. i know i'd be freaking out something fierce...

This is plain ridiculous. How can you compare that to tactical armor. Although I wouldn't have wandered around with a shotgun on my back though. I bet if he didn't wore this it wouldn't have happened.

That's kind of a funny story actually, and one of the reasons while I'm a bit reluctant at making a weapon prop...this happened in Winnipeg, Canada, and although it's in what some might consider the more "rural" part of the country, it remains that carrying weapons in public is so uncommon that even a prop (hell, happened to a friend with a SUPER SOAKER painted with tiger stripes...) is almost guaranteed to get the attention of the cops.

So yeah, gun props in canada = risky.

As for the ARMOR, though, I kinda wonder how THAT looked like tactical armor, but hey, when the cops ask, better comply ;-)

This type of thing happens allot really. You would really be surprised on how many calls we get during the con's, And we have to go check on each and every call. Of course I now just take a 4 day weekend and join in the fun my self. :cool
