I thought it was but the orange lower down made me think otherwise... Sorry if it sounded really dum but I was doing that on the way to my bus to get home(not a school bus I'm 24)

You didn't sound dumb, it was an honest case of confusion. I could have thought the same thing if i were in your shoes. That's why i clarified. I'm going to try to get the helmet fully completed this weekend. Still wondering what I'm going to do for the details in the lower vents.

I think you are doing a fantastic job all the way around. Don't worry yourself to much about paint mess ups. They are fixable and don't be jealous of foam builders. There are many benefits of building with paper and resin. I just reinforced all of my pieces with free form air epoxy putty and it will last for many years to come. Everything will brake when I decide to destroy them lol. It takes more time to build but in the long run its worth. I don't want to spend a lot of time on a project and have it only last for a year or so then a new needs to be built. But great job bro.

Thank you all for the continued support. Here's a progress update. I got my final sealing layer of resin done on a lot of the pieces i already had glassed. I'm out of fiberglass cloth, but more is on the way. This weekend I'm going to try to finish the helmet, sand down all those jagged death spikes (aka fiberglass), and continue pepping. I also fully built the addon, which was a pain in the butt.

Here's the addon

Here's my next piece I'm pepping

And finally, here's the goody i got in the mail today!

I really wanted orange, but i couldn't find a mirrored orange visor. I settled on gold... I'm thinking about returning it for a silver visor though. At least I'll be incorporating some silver into my armor.

Let me know what you guys think about the visor color and what not.

Thanks for stopping by!

I was also experimenting with what to do with the lower side vents.

I'll be adding the details on it soon.

On my grenadier/eva build I will be putting fine mesh in the vents and have fans behind them. Although what your doing looks fine!
Kal

Looking good as always, Meatwad!

I'm going to politely have to ask you to hurry up, though, as I really want to see this build in a completed state!

Just kidding of course haha, continue at your current pace and you'll have an amazing looking suit!

I was considering doing the same thing, but I'm afraid of light getting in and people being able to see though the visor. That's why I'm closing them up. I do plan to make them as game accurate as possible.

You and me both man! My plan for right now is to have the helmet, both biceps, and both shoulder attachments 100% done by halloween. I decided against rushing the torso as it will be crazy uncomfortable to wear 9 hours strait at my desk job lol. I started to bondo the grenadier shoulder attachment yesterday. Didn't make much progress. I can't stop myself from pepping more lol.

I see what you mean man the cardboard way your thinking about it should work fine if you make all the edges flush.
Keep going at your own pace and NEVER EVER rush!
Kal

I'm certainly not rushing anything lol. It's all slow and steady here.

This is my newest project I'm working on between glassing and resining.

I think the scale is right, but my foot won't fit through the hole lol. It's ok, because when i put the Jorge shin over it, i can trim the opening without it looking awkward.

Ok, so my goal this weekend is to get both the biceps and shoulders completley done. They're basically the right shape and will need some basic sanding and some minor bondo work, so it should be easy.

Quick question though. What is the best way to attach the shoulders to the biceps? Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Here's where they stand right now.

Also, here's here's what I've been working on.

I'm almost done with both parts. Let me know what you guys think and also how to attach these bad boys.

Thanks for stopping by!

Looks amazing! Really clean pep work. I noticed nobody commented on the torso size thing and I do agree that making the rest of the suit large is a good idea. I think it may just be that it's not wide enough, but otherwise it's a good-looking and detailed piece. As for attaching the shoulders, maybe velcro or a rail? The base bicep already had a kind of rail on it... Also, how spooky is it that Steel/Rust color scheme on a Collar/Grenadier build is my custom spartan plan as well?!?! Anyway, loving this build! Keep up the good work!

Awesome work man!!!
As for the biceps I've seen people put a line of thick black foam between the two, its hard to see and seems to work great. Otherwise you can always resort to the old Velcro!
Kal

If you want to secure your shoulder plating firmly, I might suggest a pair of small bolts, with the heads epoxied against the inner surface of your shoulder plate and fixed through a pair of holes to your bicep. A pair of 3-5mm screws with a small nut should suffice, and such a system might allow you to swap out permutations later on down the road if you fancy. And, as mentioned before, you could pad out the excess space with some thick foam to prevent wobbling.

Good luck, and impressively clean resin work! I'm also glad that the shin file I sent is working out well for you!

Ah I see what you were talking about with the bondo. You definitely have a way with it, and I'll keep learning from this thread. Good job!

Hey Chernobyl that's a genius idea! I'm so gonna steal that one for my build I'm planning.
Thanks on behalf of everyone it helps!
Kal

Hey Meatwad, what is your build cost up to now?

It's pretty high. Between $350 and $450 easily.

Also, i know I'm not quoting everybody, but i update from my phone and that is quite difficult to do. Thank you all for you comments/input/suggestions. I will be going with Cherry's suggestion and securing some bolts to the inside of the shoulder attachments that will be tightened to the bicep with some nuts.

Anyway, here's a progress update. I was hard at work this weekend. I finished my shin and shin attachment. I think i need to scale the inside shin larger. I had to cut it to get my foot in, and when i did, i tore a few tabs. I also did most of the grenadier knee. I think it looks pretty awesome.

Oops, i just noticed the knee is upside down lol.

Also, I'm super excited to reveal what i spent most of the weekend on.... my left bicep. I didn't use any bondo because i was happy with the shape as is.

I need to touch up some of the black pant and clean the sticky stuff off the orange, but I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Let me know what you guys think!
