Small update:

Started a paint test on my cast forearm, this was based in Alumaluster, liquid latex mask then sprayed with Createx Colors Transparent Deep Red which was thinned and intermixed with their UVLS Matte Clear. Not sure I LOVE the color but it’s pretty close for the Scorpion Punch armor shader.

I’m going to continue to work on smoothing the Plate Carrier and preparing it for molding.

Finished the paint test on this test cast forearm. Really digging it more with the weathering. I think this will be the color going forward with the Scorpion Punch colors!
Createx Deep Red mixed with UVLS matte clear.
Base coat in Alumaluster and weathered with oils and acrylic paints.

Lastly, I’ve started applying a base to paint urethane rubber. I’ve only tested this method slightly by coating a scrap cast of a Mandalorian Handplates and spraying it with Alumaluster. This is promising so far, but I need to ensure it can handle color.

Mjolnir MKVII Materials Update

So I went back and recast my Bicep in a different Rubber, this time PT Flex 85. After combing over what footage I could find on Halo Stunt suits used in various media and speaking to some professionals, I picked up some Urethane Foam (TC-266) to skin the inside of the rubber with. And the results are amazing!!! Still flexible but so much more rigid!!!

I also made the final production cast of the right forearm as well! So with those pieces done it’s time to focus on casting the rest of what I have on the bench.

Thank you. Still a lot of work to go but these tests are showing promising results. Hopefully materials will come back in stock so I can finish out the rest of the upper body before 2022.

I also saw that Tested shared out your video of making the Loki crown. that was pretty sweet to watch!

Yeah they actually repost my work a lot on Twitter. It’s pretty cool being followed by that company.

Almost done with the molding process of the Mark VII neck seal. This was 3D printed in PETG, post processed and cleared with 2K Gloss Clear.

343i recently updated their Cosplay Guide with better references of the neck seal and Undersuit/Torso Wrap. My Model didn’t include the neoprene mesh inlays so I added it with sulfur free clay, sculpting tools and utility fabric was pressed over the clay for additional details.

Mold was made with BJB Enterprises TC-5041, mold jacket will be added today with fiberglass and polyester resin.

New Neck Seal is finished. I had to redo the mold I wasn’t happen with some aspects of it. But we’re here! Cast in Polytek PT Flex 50, which is a 50A Shore Hardness. Light, durable and very flexible!

Now that this was a success, I’ll be doing the same with the abdominal wrap and other “shown” Undersuit pieces.

Beautiful build so far, can't wait to see the finished product. you gonna be a real life spartan.

Started and finished molding the front of the plate carrier last night. I used BJB TC-5041 Platinum Silicone. 4 layers and trimmed the excess off this morning.

Next, I’ll be adding the perimeter registration keys and get ready for fiberglass. This mold shell will be unique because of the way I want to cast this part. The top will be two halves, the back will have a fiberglass plate with bleeder holes tapped to skin the urethane rubber cast with urethane foam..

Happy New Year to my 405th Fam! I have a test cast of the chest armor (plate carrier) in 85A Urethane Rubber. Came out pretty good! I'm currently waiting on more materials to show up so I can finish molding and casting some parts. I also treated muh'self to a MKVII helmet cast from EvaKura.. Can't wait for that to arrive.

Also, I wanted to see what color schemed you all would like to see on this armor kit.. I have some ideas but after flipping through the shaders I'm on the fence about a few. Drop me some suggestions!

This build has reignited my desire to cast my MK VII when I finally build it. Thank you sir :p
For colors, my top suggestion I'm keeping for myself  Runners up I think would be cool are:
1. Blood Shadow because metallics are cool (or the Ironman Vermillion Fire)
2. Platinum Anniversary
3. Wild Kovan - partly because I haven't seen anyone do textures like that in real life
