Over the past month, I have fallen in love with the design of the Mk VI Gen 3 (Chief’s armor) all thanks to the helmet I picked up at GameStop, and I love the angles and thckness of the armor itself soooo time to make it and cross core it of course. I was originally just gonna use it with my Mk VII, but I changed my mind, in favor of the a Mk VI Gen 3 armor, I think this will be a very cool build, I am fairly warmed up with my foam skills lately( Finished building my nieces and nephews mandos). So let’s see if I can do it justice, well I guess the first part will be me tackling the helmet, just suck a nice piece to really kick off the build with.

Dibs on the first post, anyway I took these photos a month ago. I managed to grab this on clearance from GameStop for like $40, I love it.

This be the Spartan Collection Mk VI Gen 3 helmet from Jazzwares.

So yesterday I went ahead and filled in the mold lines and I would guess injection points too.

I’ll probably wet sand the top portions and sand the lower portion regularly-ish, don’t want to compromise the lights ya know, I’ll probably try to see if I can take them out, but don’t see any accessible screws and really don’t want to break the precious.

Also I will be scribing this thing too, just to make masking and painting easier, mostly just “bill” section and rear sections.

Also been playing with some new paints I picked up for airbrushing, but just barely used some on my old brush and tried out some weathering.

And this is paint I used, it went on fairly well with just a dab on the napkin, not sure what black magic they used, but hey, I love it. So I’ll give it the full image treatment.

Now everybody’s favorite, a nice primer coat, gonna wet sand smooth and should be ready for paints.
