Over the past month, I have fallen in love with the design of the Mk VI Gen 3 (Chief’s armor) all thanks to the helmet I picked up at GameStop, and I love the angles and thckness of the armor itself soooo time to make it and cross core it of course. I was originally just gonna use it with my Mk VII, but I changed my mind, in favor of the a Mk VI Gen 3 armor, I think this will be a very cool build, I am fairly warmed up with my foam skills lately( Finished building my nieces and nephews mandos). So let’s see if I can do it justice, well I guess the first part will be me tackling the helmet, just suck a nice piece to really kick off the build with.

Dibs on the first post, anyway I took these photos a month ago. I managed to grab this on clearance from GameStop for like $40, I love it.

This be the Spartan Collection Mk VI Gen 3 helmet from Jazzwares.

This is gonna be so cool!

So yesterday I went ahead and filled in the mold lines and I would guess injection points too.

I’ll probably wet sand the top portions and sand the lower portion regularly-ish, don’t want to compromise the lights ya know, I’ll probably try to see if I can take them out, but don’t see any accessible screws and really don’t want to break the precious.

Also I will be scribing this thing too, just to make masking and painting easier, mostly just “bill” section and rear sections.

Also been playing with some new paints I picked up for airbrushing, but just barely used some on my old brush and tried out some weathering.

And this is paint I used, it went on fairly well with just a dab on the napkin, not sure what black magic they used, but hey, I love it. So I’ll give it the full image treatment.

During my downtime from Battlefield 6(recharging headsets and controllers) manage to get the black base coat down and tested some chrome paint to make it a shinier metal color, that is about it.

The chrome paint looks white but it does have a nice metallic sheen to it, I’ll show it off when the sun comes back out, but that is it for my amazing progress ( pffft, not really, got distracted)

Goooood morning all, come on in, got a photo dump for ya.

Going to try to mimic my current colors on Infinite with a bit of Reach influence ( Just loved that black “bill”)

I do have more pics in a moment, but that is the current step

As promised took some more glamour shots:

You know, kinda want to see it with the visor in.

Buuut still have some weathering and wanting to a stripe in the middle.

Know what I’ll just tape the visor in just to see, might look good or horrendous.

Also disclaimer, full size pics coming in:

I will probably tackle the weathering when at least the chest, shoulders, and arms are done, I like to put it on the mannequin and plan out the weathering ya know, anyway, later nerds
