hi please forgive me but im not very good at searching for things on this page, i try but im not very electronically adept. my question would be what program would be best to try and model a helmet and if there would be any pointers on my noobness to said program. any help would be greatly appreciated

3D modeling forum should have some stuff for you. I recommend blender, (its free) as it's relatively simple once you learn some basic commands, and the models export VERY well into pep. Google sketchup has issues, I don't recommend it. The main objective is to import a background image of your subject, so you can use that as reference. Start with a single plane, then extrued, move, and re-size edges and verticies to form the mesh. Sounds easy, but it takes a bit of practice. hopefully someone else can be a bit more helpful... but that's the basic concept. good luck!
