Ok so there are alot of people on here who dont have printers and want a neck seal so here is the best i can do my scanner on my printer does not work so i had to take a pic of it but this is one page and you have to flip some of the parts to make a hole neck seal. they should have writting on them if it has x1 only do one other than that you need two each. please post some pics if you do this neck and let me know how it worked out for you..

one more material update for my suit. i found this material at walmart and it looks and feels like it is rubber but it is spandex material. i have some pics of it here but it is light weight and breathable. the one picture i had my wife kind of lightly stretch the material, and i took a picture you can not see through it but the light does come through, and when you hold it up to a fan you can feel the air coming through it....

These are fantastic.

looks like the size is perfect......good job. How do you plan on suiting up? magnets or clips?

ok everyone mybodyisrandy was asking a question i my self have wondered can you make a mold of a helmet from something other than the stuff from smooth on i love there product it is on the high cost side. i have a helmet that did not come out right so i am trying my silicone method out on the front of the helmet to see how it does. the pictures i have are of the start and the helmet in the picture has a first coat then a second coat so now i have to wait 24 hrs or longer to see how my test came out. i did not make a mother mold because it is only a test for the silicone. but here is a pic of what all i am using...
list......
2 tubes of 100% silicone
green paint to tint the silicone
200 mold release and vasline
2 throw away brushes
and a trash bag to cover the table
acetone to thin down the silicone
disposable bowls or cups to thin the silicone in you can no re use them for your food..

so stay tuned for updates..............

Ok Spartans, the moment of truth..................... i worked it picked up as much detail as my smooth on silicone did the last time i used it... i will let the pictures speak for its self. it even pick up every line printing because it was a scrap helmet i never sanded it man it pick up all the detail im so impressed. if anyone want to use this process let me know i will make a full video and post the you tube link for it...

So yes randy you can use this method just make sure you do your keys and your mother shell so it will keep its shape during molding. and like i said if you guys want me to do a step by step on this just let me know and i will do it and put the link up so people can follow along with me as the watch the video. and yes i died the silicone green because i was going to do another coat and that way i can see if i miss any where. but sice it was a test i did not do that second coat

marinesniper - I'd love to see a video if you end up making one! (in general I'd like to learn more about casting)
you got it i will start one tomorrow, and like i said i will walk it through so i can be followed step by step for those who have never done this stuff before.

i can definetly say that that method will work, but your mold wil deteriorate much faster than using silicone made for moulding.
a normal mold would last you around 60 copies
this wil maybe make 5 before major tears and cracks will show up.

but hey, you can always make a new one.

also, try and make a hard shell around your silicone mould with resin and fiberglass, this will keep your mold in place when you make casts, so no warping or dents occur. there should be enough tutorials on the great internets.

(source: own experience and we own a shop that makes moulds on a daily basis )
