I've been working pretty hard on this project and I just wanted to ask what you guys think of it. Since I made only one picture and it's made with a cellphone camera the quality is not the best. It also has got a working magazine for now and maybe I'll make a new one with a working slide. And if you have any suggestions then please go ahead.

The design itself looks nice, well put together. I'm not partial to the yellow swirls however, they look a bit painted on. I would probably use stencils and matte paint to ensure that they look a bit more...a part of the gun, and not just an addition. Of course, I also very much dislike the color yellow, so I'm biased. Though now that I think about it, I can't tell if they're yellow or green...

I think the paint job is nice, but lacks that metal look, and lacks an engraved look. If you resined this, why not go at it with a dremel and do these designs for real?

It's the camera. The swirls are not yellow nor green, they are actually silver. I'm going try and get a better picture with a different camera.

Well, actually I didn't resin this. But any ideas how do I get that metal look?

Ooooooh, I see now. You may want to put some bondo to even out your barrel, it looks like it's drooping alittle. And I would suggest resining it and repainting it, using a metallic paint (obviously not the sparkly kind) to make it look authentic. If you want it black, first apply a layer of silver, then paint over it black. Use a dremel or similar scraping tool to scrape out the swirls, which will appear to be engraved instead of painted on. =]

That's quite an impressive piece. The whole thing is paper, and you haven't reinforced it at all? The thing that my eye is immediately drawn to is the bent barrel I'm afraid. The artwork is lovely, but like other posters say, it looks painted. Well painted, and pretty, but still painted and you're probably going for engraved.

A bit of sandpaper and car bodyfiller (bondo if you're in the US, I'm not) will straighen it out nicely, given a few hours, a respirator, some vinyl gloves and a bit of experimentation to figure out how to mix the stuff properly in the first place! If you don't like the idea of bodyfiller use green stuff (epoxy ribbon is its fancy name), modellers' putty which isn't toxic. You'll find it ridiculously overpriced at Games Workshop, and can find it considerably cheaper elsewhere online.
