N8TEBB's Mk 7 Build!!!!!

Did you do this with Magnets?
Yessir! Turns out I even used the same polarity as Angus314 which means we can swap ears XD

The suit has turned out really great!

The paint scheme / weathering works great too, and could never say no to more cat ears on Spartans!

Cost Analysis
This is the cost Analysis of my new mk7 armour. For those just joining us now: This is a foam build with a 3D printed helmet. Other notable features that affect the cost are: faux leather ab wrap section, vacuum formed visor, hearing system, voice amplifier, and tall shoes.

Technical notes feel free to skip
Note 1: Prices are CAD. Anything that specifies US has an exchange rate of 1USD = 1.35 CAD applied already
Note 2: Anything that specifies "order" has tax already applied
Note 3: Delivery was not accounted for. The only item that did not have free delivery was spray chrome, but that was bought in bulk for another project so I will not account for it here. Price of amazon prime is not accounted for.
Note 4: Ambassador bridge fees to get to the US, and card fees for spending money in the US are not accounted for. Being a border city, I know many people with American credit cards whom I can pay back and I know people who travel to the US for work, so I can circumvent these fees.
Note 5: I did my best to keep receipts so most prices are accurate at the time of purchase. There are likely things I bought that I forgot here, so the total is only approximate.
Note 6: Tax of 13% is applied to the total for all items that do not specify "order"
Note 7: Items that have the price "$ - " I had purchased already for other projects, and were not bought specifically for this project.

How did you guys do that? Just embed magnets on the inside of the dome before sanding ? That was my train of thought but I thought itd be helpful to hear what other people did. (The suit looks absolutely gorgeous btw)
Even simpler! I just glued magnets to the inside of the dome! I modeled a little inset in the ears for the magnet to sit in too. The helmet is thick enough that the magnets hold on tight enough!

Cool thank you so much !
This actually just gave me an idea. Maybe it's not worth the trouble, but it could be cool.
What if we had a 405th standard polarity for magnets? Then we could do this and swap attachments at meetups!
I was about to ask the same thing lol. thatd be sick :p

This would be cool! I have no idea what the polarity of mine are though haha, I just made sure they stuck together. I do believe that even if the polarity does not match, won't the magnets try to connect to the sides of each other? Meaning the ears will still try to connect? idk, but we thought Rock Lobbster had opposite polarity, but his ears stuck on my helmet no problem. weird
The question is - are you going to fix this :-D
Fixed as soon as I spotted it. Only took a sec to cut, re-glue, and seal. Would have bugged me forever otherwise hehe
Dude, this build is simply amazing. I hope you'll do another build video like you did with the Chief suit, I'd love to see the process!
oh you BET I filmed the whole process. Video won't be out for a while though, I have 450 GB of footage to sort through XD Wish me luck!
