New guy here and starting on my armor!

UPDATE: 9/6/15

Hello all! Im a new guy here and i would like to introduce my self. I have started on my Halo reach costume and wish vanity would download but it wont, so i cant show you the plan i have in mind. But anyways, what i have as a plan is the
Gugnir helmet- Ipod camera in peep hole and i see through the camera
Chest- Assault sapper chest with robotic arm
Right shoulder- Commando
Left shoulder recon
Gauntlet- Tactical/ ugps (iphone)
Tactical soft case and Gugnir knees
White and blue or black paint scheme

Someone came along and helped with the vanity! thanks ArmoredAmir for the help!

So far i have completed the gugnir helmet and the left arm





So this is what i have so far, I will take a break for a day or two as i have to regather supply and i need a little break after getting all this done in 2 days

I have an otter box case that will be glued in the most front part of the helmet, and i can just snap in and snap out the ipod

That's a pretty awesome idea man! Was always wondering how someone would make this helm work! Only concern would be straining your eyes looking at the screen and it might be to close to your eyes to focus. I love the idea and always loved that helm hope you figure it out! Id say test it to make sure you don't get a huge headache at an event!

Yeah i can understand the eye straining. But i think with the scale used for the helmet, it ended up working and being a good 2 - 3 inches away from my eyes. I did a little test with the ipod and the helmet, and i will admit, it was weird at first, but as soon as i got used to moving my legs and arms around, it became very easy and standable. Im hoping that after this build i can build a pilot helmet and vacuum form a visor for it. But im hoping that the helmet will work the way i want to. But if it doesn't, i may build the JFO/ UA helmet.

So Update time! I finished the Robotic arm to go along with the assault sapper chest. Made out of eva foam and misc. electronic stoof. so hear it is, hope you enjoy!

Thank you AveryWizeMan and Sped10909! This is infact my first build and my first time actually working with foam. My only experience i have is just fiberglassing a recon helmet i made for fun!

Man id be embarrassed to post my current WIP...ive never built anything with for or fiberglass so I'm literally learning everything. So far have forarms built but going to redo them using some new techniques I've learned for straighter cuts and better curves. I'm very impressed with your stuff man I HAVE to rebuild my stuff now! Haha.

Update time! 7/16/15:

So for this update, its not my armor, but my dmr i made out of cardboard that will be resined from the sliced dmr file. The scope is made from a nerf long-shot and old medicine bottles for the scope parts. It came out really well im my opinion. The clip is removable, and i may plan to make it a mini storage box type thing. But all in all, I am very proud of it!

Barrel Measures out at 8.75 in an scope measures in at 6.5 in. Hope all of you enjoy!

Awesome work! TBH I wanted to make a Gungir helmet, but several friends talked me out of it. I can't wait to see the final product.

Thank you! The gungnir helmet is a hard helmet to tackle vision wise, but the plan i have, it shouldn't be to much of a problem.

You're welcome. Though I can think of some other helmets with lacking peripheral vision. But this is almost fully enclosed. I do wonder what it is like looking though an iPod up that close for a couple of hours... XD. I hope you don't screw up your eyes. For me working long hours on my suit, my vision became more near sighted.....

But with my FOTUS, (one of the rare helmets out there... I think... I have only seen about 5 on the internet, including mine....) Due to the angles of the FOTUS visor, you can only see so much and other areas warp. I usually have to look at people at an angle or with one eye.

Update 8/5/15
So it has been a while for an update and i got alot of things to show everyone. its a bit pic heavy haha












But with no longer need to be in a rush, i can go ahead and take time on making the armor! Knife was made out of 3mm sintra using basic templates from the file data base

After a month of not really updating, i have finished my Pilot helmet! With the pilot helmet, I would like to know if any body on here would be interested in a cast if i get it molded. If interested, send me a PM and we can talk about the helmet!

Nice looking helmet! Are those powerade bottle caps on the side of the helmet? Well whatever they are that's a cool way of using them, haha. Are you still planning on vacuum forming the visor?

Actually, they are goldpeak tea bottle caps. And yes i plan in making the table very soon to finish the helmet! Without that video you shared, I would not be able to build the vacuum table!
