ODST camo

I've been thinking about The ODST camo, and have come up with a few thoughts.
1: We need a thread purpose built for links to sites for this(Don't flame me if one has already been posted, I did search.
Just post the link to it.)
2: BDU's won't work accuratlly for the ODSTs, as they are a two piece suit, and when dropping from orbit you want to be
sealed up.
3: The Arms Race ODSTs didn't even wear camo, they had a sealed-rubbery sort of thing.

To deal with the first thing I have created this thread. For the second, I'm thinking of getting an urban camo flight jumpsuit. For the third, I have no idea.
Please, post your own thoughts.

after looking on the landfall video i agree with helios, it does look like one piece jump suit with the sections of armour attacthed to it, possibly the jumpsuit is used as a pressue seal when traveling through the atmosphere in drop pods. Also in the "landfall" video when he takes of the ODST helmet you can hear a gas depressurisation or something so that also backs up the theory of it being sealed. So what you might have to do is possibly buy a wetsuit or something like it if you want to be authentic. As for it being camo i just see it as one whole piece of block suit so a black wetsuit would be best.

There's nothing to say that a well-cut 2-piece uniform could not be used. For it to be a full pressurisation suit for space combat, it would need to be skin-tight, as that is how the thermal dynamics of such suits work. Further, in Earth combat and also on atmosphere areas where combat occurs away from a drop, pressurisation suits would not be necessary - the big question therefore is whether what we see on the outside is the pressurisation suit itself. It could just be the outer layer over an internal suit.

At any rate, for our purposes, a 2-piece uniform of similar cut and style would be perfectly good. I would suggest this one, sold by Propper:

Now, that material in a one-piece overall? Perfect.

I was thinking of using that for the halo 2 odsts but the new odsts have a lot less camo on their armor.

It looks like the Halo 3 and Arms Race ODSTs wear a black wetsuit/underarmor type undersuit, and the Arms Race ones dont even wear camo. The only parts on the Halo 3 ODSTs that actually have a camo pattern on them are the forearms and thigh plates.

i suppose you could build over them to detail with cardboard or something to make it look more ODSTish =]. nice find.

I like the idea of a black under suit for the armor but as for skin tight I'm not so sure.
Having a totally sealed suit would make sense because before the Spartans got their own armor they wore ODST armor, and on a side note the ODSTs are the only non Spartan *human* units with any kind of HUD.

The ODST suits are more than likely 2 pieces. Those suits aren't pressurized as far as I can tell. 2 piece BDUs are a bit easier to work with, so I think that is what is used.

As for the color, I think that Digitizied seems most likely.

The BDU should either be Black:

Urban / Charcoal:

Or this other Urban / Arctic:

Mostly, it just depends on how you want your ODST outfit to look. I am personally going with the Digitized Urban, because the neck of the jacket is a choker, and would help protect the neck against extreme heat / wind. Oh, and does anybody know the link to those plates rvb18 posted?

i dont think so halo one marine had a hud like the GRAW games do and the halo 3 ones have almost the same think.

I agree with helios. ODST camo is supposed to be used universally, in space or in atmosphere. But in the 21st century nothing is developed like the ODST camo. The closest thing we got is the BDU in looks and (i guess, ill put some research into this) jumpsuits in practicality.

Spartan 137: it looks like Urban BDUs will be the best for ODSTs if you compare it with this:

:) MY first POST :)

wow, looks like i found what i'm looking for
um, yeah, so i finished my iron man suit for halloween, and i wanted to step up the production value a little bit as i also want to get in some airsoft with it (but that's a different thread) so i was wondering if you guys had any ideas for cheap, reliant, watertight materials for the actual plates, because i already have a body suit
