Meowdy y’all long time lurker first time poster. With dragon-con right around the corner thought I’d show yall what I’ve been working on. I took inspiration from @justohl over on instagram who does some really cool cyberpunk builds, but it was his cyberdeck that stumbled across and I wanted to put a halo spin it. So with a weatherproof case from harbor freight, some thin wood and and Ipad. I started my build. I traced out the foam pads that came with the case to cut out panels for the radio pack, the top side will house an iPad and switches. The bottom half will be used to mount a keyboard/tack pad.
Once cut out and some sanding the fit perfectly into the case
Next order of business was to add some bits and bops to make it look more radio looking.
Luckily for me I live near a surplus store and random odds and ends. (Shoutout skycraft surplus)
*used painters tape as a temporary solution for getting a feel how/where I wanted to mount things*
Added another antenna up top as well as taping up the rough idea how I wanted to layout out the top and bottom parts.
I later measured out the screen of my iPad and marked it out on the topside of the case
3d printed out a bezel to not hide my totally straight cuts :3c
Time for the Ipadtest fit I also removed the handle for the case and will be using it as mounting points to be wearable l
With the iPad looking good I last left off with where to place the switches and LEDS going to try to have the switches turn on/off the LEDS. not sure if this is going to be the final layout but a good enough starting point. And that’s all I have for this build currently will be updating this post more as I make progress here leading up to dragon-con
