Nightmare Armor

Active Member
This is a list of parts that we hear at NAS bought by the bulk full, to finish up armor suits and add that little bit of kick ass to each set. hope this helps out. FIRST TIME EVER TOLD.

1ST we used pressure/launch suits under the armor found at www.pricepoint.com

2ND we used storm trooper/predator neck seals found at www.EBay.com

3RD we used underarmor paints found at www.underarmor.com

4TH boots from demonia thrashville from www.infectiousthreads.com

5TH we used 2IN black web belts from any Army Navy store.

hope this helps.

by the way my XBL gammer name is NIGHTMARE ARMOR playing lots of GoW.

What I use

1. www.underarmor.com - pants, shirt, head cover
2. www.eBay.com - neckseal
3. jacket
4. pants - HL 2821
5. boots - overboots that can be put on over any shoes

I have used the seller for the jacket, no complaints.
Also, when I got the pants there was a "useless" strip in the back, attached by a zipper. then, when i started to asemble pieces to the undersuit, i noticed that i could attach my butt plate to the strip. now I have an easily removable butt plate whenever i want to sit down in the suit.

Off the Shelf Plasma Grenade Prop

Hey, a little off subject, but I found a right off the shelf glowing Plasma grenade prop.

It's a laser level that looks like it must have been designed by a fan of Halo. The pictures don't do it justice. It's really bright. The color scheme is nearly perfect. Just take the lettering off with a little Acetone and it's good to go.

Best thing...they were only $4.99 at Radio Shack. Buy 3 and juggle 'em!

I found some paintball gloves that are pretty cool. Unfortunately, I removed the namebranding from them, so I don't know what they are. Still, it's a great place to start looking by searching for paintball gloves. The hand armor plate is just strapped over the glove.

Mine were bought on Ebay, from a guy in England.. I looked around the internet for those gloves, but no luck, it was my only source.

We don't use much over-the-counter stuff:

Boots (overboots.. part of the armor)
Vest (made in-house)
other under armor (Army/Navy surplus Black BDU's)
Balaclava (open faced ski-mask)
web strapping (Army/Navy surplus)
Web buckles (Army/Navy surplus)
fans (Radio Shack computer fan)
lights (local friend makes them)
Paint (mixed krylon spray paints, allows parts to flex without cracking)

My personal costume currently uses a black long-sleeved t-shirt hoodie (the legendary one from the bungie store), we also make Stormtrooper neck seals for the 501st , so I might add that later. The pants are currently black BDU's, but I'm working on a set of partial legs that will attach to the vest, and put the belt where it's supposed to be, instead of wearing it like you'd normally wear a man's belt.

My H3 suit will have a full undervest that we're working on.. Rob's a tailor, and my girlfriend helps sew too. It's a tailored fit though.

Neoprene Knee and Shin Pad

I think that this would work well as a good base to mount the knee and shin armor too. It velcros around the back of the leg for wearing
and you could them mount your Knee/shin and claf armor to this
Their elbo pad looks like it owuld work well also
you can find them here

Pads and Balls

The Rocky knee and shin pads look neat! check our their chest protector as well as their elbow pads. It would probably be more comfortable than rigid armored motorcross body armor when worn under rigid Spartan armor.

I found the Laser Level Balls online at: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...rentPage=search

The URL is very long, but you can probably find it yourself on the www.radioshack.com index. Just look for Laser level ball. :)
Before you buy on line, Watch out for high shipping costs!

n00b boot question

n00b question here. About the boots/boot covers. Which is it better, combat boots, Black shoes w/ boot covers or "knee high" Goth boots (Sid Garand method)? I think those knee shin pad combo, see pic above, with a boot or shoe looks good, but I have no experience in this matter. So what is the best way to keep that Shin/Foot Armor in place and looking good?

Re: n00b boot question

i ordered the shin guards and chest armor. 8)

it all depends on what you wanna do in your armor. i use overshoes because i need to quickly get in and out of my armor and I want to have comfortable shoes on all the time. goth boots look a little bettter, expecially if you want to tower over everyone. However, they take a longer time to get on and off, and they're a little harder to walk in. the compromise would be combat boots.
