Painted - AK47 and M1911 (airsoft)
Over the last two days I've received a few new airsoft guns, a M1911 pistol and an AK-47. Both of which looked very bland.
The AK47's furniture was a plastic-like high gloss black, and the body was a glossy gun metal-like color.
Painting method: Single coat of Primer, followed with a somewhat sloppy coat of Flat black. I separated the stock and hand grips from the body and painted them an Olive Green (Italian Olive from Krylon). I then dry-brushed on some Metallic Silver into the body to give the illusion of scratching. Before I black washed the Olive painted parts, I attacked it with a 150-grit sandpaper sheet to scratch it up, then I did a black wash onto the parts that I painted green to give it that dirty look, as well as the charging handle.
The 1911 had a clear body with black grips and came to me broken. Pulling it apart I saw it couldn't be fixed, so I removed the firing spring to make it easier to cock. This one is still in revision, I'm painting it for a friend and he wants to do some more customization to it.
Here are some closeups of the weapons.
I'd like straight up opinions on these, state your mind and back it up. Bad paint job/ Good paint job. I hated it because the black wash looks stupid on the AK/ I liked the way you used green and made it dirty looking.
