Possible EVA Visor Mirroring

I got this from a firm in Miami. It's applied to a very thin piece of plastic, probably acetate or something.
It's self-adhesive, gold, mirrored, and you can see out the dark side like it's very light sunglasses. If the back-side is dark, it's impossible to see what's there, i.e. the inside of a helmet.

I've already asked them about the physical properties, but it's window tint, which means it can be heated and stretched..

That would definitely work, good find. That reminds me, I don't know if I've shared something I thought of for the EVA visor. I'm not trying to derail your topic, just helping with the brainstorming. Maybe paint most of the visor with this:
duplicolor metalcast paint

And then make just part of it with an actual visor. The only bad thing is there isn't a gold. Its a shiny yellow, but it would work fine, IMO. This stuff can be found at Advance Autoparts and Autozone. Probably most autoparts stores.

However the film idea is superior in the fact that the whole visor could be seen through, which would be really nice.

What were the strange sounds in the background of the video?

Traffic. There's a hill nearby that ricers like to zoom down.
There's also a hellish light at the bottom. Lots of random screeching, crunches, and broken glass.

I think anyone can buy it, the company offers worldwide shipping.
I don't know if this will work yet, though- the sample I got was already applied to a piece of clear plastic, so I couldn't tell if it has the stretchiness we'll need to use it on EVA visors. I'm trying to get more info out of the company, but it's like pulling teeth- I get the impression their salesman doesn't take me seriously, speaks poor english, is overwhelmed, or some combination of the above.

I'm doing some digging for different companies that offer the same thing now, getting some more samples, etc.

Interesting. I wasn't aware that armor and prop building was a competitive thing.
What he has there looks nice, but it does look pretty silver.
I agree... Which is why I linked there, so ideas could be shared and further the efforts of all.

PETG sheeting would be perfect. It's metallized, transparent on one side and thermoformable. They use it for packaging. I'm eating a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates right now that uses the stuff to hold the individual candies. Unfortunately the Chinese supplier I found only sells it by the ton :rolleyes . Maybe one of you guys will have better luck finding someone that sells individual sheets.

Heat wrap that around a vacuum formed visor, it will work as long as the material itself is see through, if not, use tint film, that stuff heat wraps just fine.

I'm too lazy to make the eva visor when I'm making 2 other helmets, then mold it with plaster, then vacuum form it, then go out and buy vinyl to heat wrap.

I know from heat wraping vinyl to a car that is would stick just fine, as long as the vinyl or tinting film is see through, and you have a visor thats clear, then it should work.
