Just to let you know, the AI Chip is in the helmet but all ranked officers (I don't know for enlistees) have something in their head so they can find them and know their "matricule" (Like when Cortana spotted him on the Covenant Ship)

But its not Captain Keyes.

It says it somewhere on Halopedia, That each skull represents a Dead or Missing Spartan.
I see where you are coming from, as Keyes has the "Port" on his head, as you see in a scene on Halo CE.
But the spartans all have this aswell, Like how Chief has a slot in his head, where Cortana can be implanted.

Each spartan has their own slot incase of Emergency AI Use or Important Storage.

Go on Theatre and look at the Skulls, youll see the port on the back of the head.

Back on topic. The skull looks alot better without the jaw. Almost a prefect Replica
A little off topic again but,
The skulls are supposed to be Captain Keyes's skull from Halo CE.

When John gets sent down to have an upgrade. They upgrade the armor with the Compability to contain an AI.
They also do surgery to his body (his head in particular) so it is more Compatible with the armor.

And there is a "Thought" from john in the book, that he explains when he places cortana into the helmet, "It felt like a cool liquid flowing through my skull to my brain" Or something along those lines. So yes, the ship does actually connect to his skull somewhat.

What???? Are you sure about that?! ......hmm....................*wanders off to find a definitave answer*
Yeah. In Halo CE When Master Chief found Captain Keyes turned into a Flood Brain Form(That Big Blobby Flood bag in the Halo 1 Level Keyes), Chief was originally supposed to burn out his skull with the Flamethrower, but Because Bungie was afraid it would be too gruesome and the Flamethrower was cut from the Xbox version, they Cut it out, but to make up for that they recycled Captain Keyes Skull for Oddball. If it wasn't for that, we'd never be having this conversation. :p

The Slot is Only in the helmet, not the skull. The Helmet houses the A.I., allowing it to get better connections with Intel, Ships, Etc.. And In the Trivia section of Captain Keyes on Halopedia, It will talk about how his skull was recycled from the Level Keyes into Oddball. And also, only Captains and stuff can have neural Implants because they are made for Seeing the status of ships. In Halo: The Flood, Captain Keyes gets recurring scrolling Sentences that he sees across his Eyballs, so he can see them in his vision, while others don't.

EDIT: Sorry Stig, after reading your recent post you may be right. But the Skull is still Captain Keyes.

From what I understand,
This looks awesome tlither btw. =]
But I think like the AI goes in his/her head if the suit is offline....
Right?? OR not right?
Goes off to rant in Sangheili...

BLARG HONK SNORTY WORT WORT WORT HONK HONK BLARG WORT SNORT!

Thanks everyone. Guess I'll have to see about picking up at least a dozen more or so. Might as well since they are cheap. Make all the skulls. Is there a graphic that has all the skull symbols listed? Don't think I've seen one.

Best one I could find right now : h

Load up your halo 3 if you have all the skulls.

I found these at Walmart the other day and just had to grab a couple. Possibly an oddball skull? Cut off the lower jaw? What do you all think?

i saw these at k-mart today
unfortunately i had left my wallet at home and i didnt wanna walk home and all the way back lol
and its made out of some sort of foam
oh and they also had mini ones ;)

The AI chip goes into the helmet, and Cortana interfaces with the Chief's brain using the data port attached to his skull. Even in fiction, I don't think the human brain could download a sophisticated AI. ODST have this port as well, and possibly the Marines too. The chip that Captain Keyes had was something different that was added along with the standard port.

That skull looks good. You could use two of them to top some CTF flags.

I saw some skulls in Target that had removable jaws, but the eye area was stylised to have a frowning expression.

put red leds in the eyes-it looks mean and when activated in H3 the eyes start to glow in the menu.
just an idea..

Yeah, that would be incredibly massive brain surgery. I don't think it goes directly into his head. I think the crystal chip that stores the AI goes into the helmet and the helmet connects to the rest of the suit, and the suit hooks up to his spinal cord. I'm pretty sure motor skills would just get screwed up every time Master Chief jammed Cortana into his brain. He would probably be epileptic from all those flashing lights in his attic.

Yay epilepsy!! That would be an awesome blooper! Master Chief goes into get Cortana, inserts chips, seizes up and falls on floor... continues to twitch with the Black sarge-guy (I always forget his name...) stealing his armor and selling it on ebay.

BTW, your avatar makes my day! Yay spinning pink barbie car!
