i am new to this crafting and creating stuff. But I very interested and I'm going to create an ironman mark III helmet as a test to see how everything works. But I need an idea on full costume. Ironman could work but I am a large guy. I am 6'6" and around 260 lbs. I don't want the costume to look awkward because of my size.

hello and welcome!
maybe you are a "Jorge"-Type of Spartan? :)
what you think about that:

That is an interesting idea. I'm not a halo fanatic but I could pull that off. Still open to other ideas if anyone has any.

You could make the Iron man mark I suit. I don't know if there are any pep files, but it would be a good size for you.

Well we could always use more coveniant forces so an Elite or even a hunter would be cool as well. Spartans are huge and normally larger than normal people so anyone of the many spartan suits is also a good choice.

If you are thinking of more a non halo suit I would say why not keep with the iron man theme you like, I take it you like the character, and put a twist on it. Try doing one of the suits from either the movies or the comic. I think a good Crimson Dynamo or Iron Monger would have all the more comon seen Iron man MKIII's shakening in thier boots and I'm sure with some lifts/stilts you could tower at 7'.

I would love to do the hulkbuster. Mark I suit would work too but not as impressive. I am leaning spartan just because the pep files exist. I have no skill at crafting so I'm trying to stick with the pep make up. I have not seen a pep file for hulkbuster or the other characters that were mentioned.

You could do Iron Man Heavy Artillery armor. Cardboard king over on therpf.com did it and pulled it off pretty well. He is a big guy too so might be something you are interested in.

Welcome to one of the most addictive and rewarding hobbies

I understand your dilemma . I’m taller than you and weigh in at 295lbs . On the positive side with all the Halo armor files out there it’s easier to find ones that fit. I have also eliminated most of the files that don’t scale to our size very well. I’m happy to help you and pass along any of the files that illuminate the sizing problems I ran into . When started browsing through the website I wasn’t the biggest Halo fan .I was a bigger Star Wars fan so I finally had time to build my armor I contacted the 501st who said I couldn’t be an official member because the particular costume I wanted to build wasn’t sanctioned as an official build. Long story short the Halo universe has really grown on me and now I have an Xbox live account and play for an hour here and there when I have time.
Like I said feel free to ask any questions about the larger builds
PS iron man builds or awesome it’s just too bad there aren’t more files out there

About the "arne't more files out there" I think some of the 405th guys in the 3D Modelarea are really helpfull if it comes to this.
I know I'm not long 405th online and also I'm just a registered forum-member but I'd encourage you to simply ask :)

Going to give that a shot. In the mean time im going to finish my ironman helmet for a test run. Thanks for all the suggestions

Before you make a decision, you should think about doing the prototype from halo legends. Its pretty big and no one has finished one yet.
