i might pick up a detail sander later today and was just wondering if they were small enough to reach into these annoying corners.

depending on the size of sander you get, but it will be able to get in some tight spots... but what always does work is a small chunk of wood with sandpaper wrapped around it, takes a bit longer but i think it works better.



p.s. the helm is looking very nice.

Depending on the particular sander you get it may come with a few different bits and pieces made for getting into tight spaces like that.
