OKay, in reach were looking at older everythings, older hogs, banshees, covies, and most importantly, spartans. But, in 2552, would we see those same spartn III suits in use?

Uhm... Halo: Reach takes place in 2552. And they're wearing the Mk. V Armor, just as the Master Chief used in Halo: CE.

Well, the hogs aren't exactly "old". The banshees could be and older versions(Like our f-16's being compared to an f-22).

The "old" Covies may have come from a different branch(Just like the Marines and the Army).

So yeah, I would expect to see the same Spartan-III suits in use(Since they were cheaper to make).

... the battle for reach was august 2552.. and yes the covies that were on reach was a different branch of the covenant, thaats why you see different vehicles.

^ good point

Also about the armor...Spartan III armors(trying to remember the books)...don't have variants yet...And if they did, you would see the LATEST variant for obvious reasons. I don't mean customization.

In First Strike, Red Team recovered some boxes labeled Mark V with prototype attachments making it solid that everyone had Mark V armor including Chief until he got his Mark VI.

In ghosts on onyx spartan III's only wore Semi powered infiltration (SPI) suits, but in reach they used Mark V(b) suits. I'm guessing that noble team was pretending to be spartan II's that were trained separately as not to alert Dr.Halsy of the SIII program (read halo first strike)

SPI armor did not have shields, but had a human version of active camouflage better than the covenants so you could only tell they were there by the crumpled grass under their feet or any dents and plasma burns:

I still have a problem with Spartan IIIs being on Reach at all. Because there were plenty of Spartan IIs (All of them basically) on Reach for the defense. Another problem is that just about every Spartan III that was of age to help fight during reach would have been wiped out in that covvie assault mission, and all of the Spartan IIIs beta edition WERE still on Onyx AFTER Reach because Dr. H showed up and found them.

I also really don't like that there are Mark V variants (Like the Mark VI and the SPI shouldn't have them either) because the whole point of the spartan programs (all of them) were A) Unity of a team, B) interchangeability of parts doesn't lend itself to unique armors.

thanks guys, im not what you call a reach savvy is why XD i just wanna try and re-start an old idea of mine, and im not a fan of spartan mk II armor, so this has helped me a TON, thanks! expect a mk III build to sprout from me soon!

On Onyx , it was the new GAMMA company. If you look up the Spartans of Noble team,..Carter, Jun, and Emile were from ALPHA Company but not part of Operation: Prometheus which resulted in the remaining company wiped out as they were part of a select few put in other operations. Kat is from Beta company along with B312(Noble 6). They were not part of operaton Torpedo that wiped all but two from Beta at that time.

And yes I am confused at why the Spartans have what looks like Mark V armor...but you can armor lock and camoflauge like SPI....and Dr. Halsey(on purpose by Bungie I am sure) comments on why Jorge's armor looks different, because he obviously modifies his Moljiner armor with ?SPI? parts...

Spartan 2's and Spartan 3's can wear the same armor, so what armor they use isn't an indicator of what class of Spartan they are.

All of Noble Team's members wears MJOLNIR Mk. V Armor. Halsey commented on Jorge's Armor because of the Bracers on his forearms, the Grendier Collar, the huuuuge Backpack and the two Unique shoulder pads. Jorge said they were additions, not modifications.

The Mk. V is the name of N6's helmet, not the armor he is wearing, which is standard Mk. V. The Rogue Helmet in Halo 3 was called Mk. VI, because it's a privatized variant of the standard version of that helmet.
