Just been working on a little something the last couple of days :)

Hand painted them on :) still gotta do the other side, and I've got to finish the skull and wing flag toppers and the second flag base holder. Originally both just had the gold skulls but after a bit of (husband vs wife multiplayer) research we decided to do the 'wing' section as well. With their bases they do free-stand which is very handy for storage at home and events we go to.

Will post updated pics as I go :D

These are freaking awesome!!! ever thought of actually getting them embroidered? cause those could sell.... also, it'd be really gun to go to a con and have 2 people running around with opposing flags.

And make a game of it to steal them from each other the entire day :p

Suck it Blue!
What? Oh, wrong Red Vs. Blue.

Well not completely ;) they are the 'original' Red vs Blue flags and we went old school Halo for that reason ;) Husbands and my next costumes are Red vs Blue Washington and Texas :)

And yes.... these are for events (smaller cons). Last time an astromech stole our flag!! (Photo courtesy of a friend). After chasing him down we then had to chase down someone else who stole it :p

No I haven't. we originally were going to get them printed onto material and finish the edges ourselves coz a friend of mine owns a printing business but I decided I wanted something different to do at home and painted them :D

The 'wings' will be made from foam and attached to the top

Foam flag topper 'wings' have been cut, glued and sanded down. now for sealing then painting!

This is it mocked up :D

Thats awesome! how long did it take to make.

The topper? I dunno a few hours for the two of them? plus the hour or so the other day when i planned and glued them (and sanded one side of foam down coz they are three layers of foam mat thick ea)

The skulls are a pack of plastic ones I found just before halloween, glued the jaw shut, cut a hole in the bottom for the pole and spray painted.

The flags are just a bit of cheap cotton cut to size and hemmed, then two eyelets put in. The poles are irrigation hosing, 20mm thick if I remember correctly, in two different lengths joined with a connector and the flag is screwed into place with sell tappers. None of it is very difficult or overly expensive. The painting you don't want to know how long it took (nor do I accurately know either) but that's partly because I am pedantic and partly coz I was watching either TV or Red vs Blue while I painted :p

"If the flag is gone, who will lead us? Who will inspire us with their shiny pole? Who will flap directions to us in battle? We are lost! And the world as we knew it is gone from our eyes! Only to live in our memories as the days of salad and glory! Truly these are the end of times!"

A full pic of the two flags- excuse red flag, it was drunk and needed to lean on my lightsabers for support :D It's base isn't finished yet. Again, cheap as solution for mobile bases- small traffic/ marking cone, with MDF base (the base needs to be wider/ heavier however, the flags do stand in it up until someone tugs on the flag), pvc tubing stuck down the centre same diameter of the top hole of the cone (and just a bit bigger than the pole) and plenty of hot glue. Add some cheap green spray paint and you have a green base. Ive just gotta weigh down the base a bit more so it holds against the flag moving. As a result the flags are freestanding for events or just general shenanigans :p
