Gah, all of these tiny imperfections that need to be fixed are annoying.

So here's my Smooth-on list:
Rebound 25 - 1 Gallon Unit =- 176$
Silc Pig White - 4 oz.=- 17$
Silicone Thinner - Pint=- 11$
Thi-Vex - 1 Pint=- 15$
Smooth-Cast 320 - 1 Gallon Unit=-79$

Total= 298$

Well at least my parent's are helping out and paying 150$ of it.

If you have comments on this list, you have a a few days to post it before I send the links to my dad to order it.

I totally love this build, never had the patience to sculpt a helmet, But I love the work you have done here.

Smoothing, BTW, the camera distorted the proportions a bit and made it squarer than it actually is.

How do you manage to get it so smooth? Im sculpting my project now but I'm having trouble keeping it smooth

I'm Using Petroleum jelly you put it on thin and after a while the clay will soak some of it in. Then you can use a spoon or your finger to smooth it, you can also use the metal spoon before you apply the jelly to even out the surface.

Don't forget the Blue Realm technique using poster board as flat/smooth surfaces:

Go about halfway down and you'll see where he used poster board.

Here's some slightly out dated update pics:

First, remember to trim your fingernails.

I brought down the groove on the top of the helmet to the fingernail mark.
