Yes, its a lot harder, well not really hard as much as tedious, task that will make sure that after x amount of uses, will stand sturdy.
I highly reccomend doing so. VERY highly.
Since bondo is strong and all, but after so many times using the armour, its just going to wear away like paint and just having something like fiberglass there for permanant support, is just far better.
I would suggest you fiberglass the inside IF you can. It may be a tedious task getting into all those nooks but it should be worth it if it isn't too much trouble.
