Long time no update!
Stealing hours on this build in between jobs in the shop.
Here’s where 117 sits currently!
Helmet is on its 5th and final pass of surface prep before a blank visor buck is added to get it ready for molding and roto-cast.
Extremely pleased with the results of this assembly. Helmet was printed in 12 separate parts so it could fit on my zortrax M200 machine. ABS, filler primer, 220 - 800 grit sand and steel wool polish.
Hand plate master is done, ready for molding and casting as well.
And boots!
Boots are very special. I’ll write a separate post explaining this process and sharing my sources.
The majority of my time thus far has been designing a workflow that will yield the best results, ignoring speed. I’m in this one for the long haul.
Scaling / slicing files daily and squeaking them onto printers as I can.
