Sizing - Calves too tall - I am Crazy to cut?

I walked around for about an hour yesterday. It works, but makes a lot of noise and movement is notably restricted. Non-Flat surfaces are complicated.

Am I crazy to CUT off 3/4 inch from the bottom of each calf? .... On my last day to make adjustment before Dragon Con?

Thanks

Noise and restricted movement are just consequences of hard printed armor like this. It’d be better to just try adding some foam on the edges maybe and also for movement try making certain parts out of TPU or foam.

I ended up cutting about 3/4 of an inch off of them. that improved movement, but still a lot of noise.
I will re-size and re-print them.
Evaluating options for the boots:
Maybe some EVA padding between the seams to silence them.
Add a rubber or eva sole?
Maybe remaking them out of EVA or TPU (if I can ever get TPU to work well)
Maybe resizing the middle sections?
Maybe using a different boot model?

Hello OrangeCrush,
Why not try your hand at making some EVA Foam shins? Foam is easily adjustable as needed. Who knows, maybe you'll prefer foamsmithing over 3D prints!

Kind regards.
