Shadow Of Intent

Another one of the projects that I never got round to uploading from a couple of years ago, this is based on the gold skin verson of the Pulse Rifle but with some slightly Halo fuel rod gun inspired lighting.

These first images show how the majority of the rifle was made using a version of the model sliced into 5 main sections for the body and and a few extra thicker pieces on each side. It's a particularly useful way of making models quickly, since you could use a laser cutter on foam if available, or just use a router with a flush cut bit to duplicate the centre piece and cut off the sections that are absent on the outer layers.

These are the electronic steps: An EL wire inverter modified to have only an on / off function (No flashing effects) with a direct link from the AA cells to a blue LED behind the ammo counter and a momentary cutoff switch mounted where the trigger is. Also there's a rechargeable speaker in the grenade launcher tube

And the rest of the fixtures / painting. The picatinny riser worked suprisingly well. As long as the male and female halves are separated by a solid section of aluminium, you can cut through it and swap them over to make a component removable

The paint finish is a bit rushed, and in hindsight MDF woukd have made the surface much easier to paint opposed to plywood, but for a first attempt at building a sliced model it wasn't too bad.
