Originally posted on Sunday, due to a board mix up? Im posting again :) According to my profile this is my first post, so hey everyone :)

I live in Hitchin UK, just north of London. Myself and my girlfriend started this sculpt 2 weeks ago. A bit late but ive always been a fan of the costume... such a great piece of design. Im part of the UKG and thought it would make a great Real Icons costume. A few G friends are after an MC so a possible squad is on the cards!

Its being sculpted over a life cast of myself, im 6ft 5 so I'm the right height... even so I've added a cm or 2 lifts in the shoes. I'll need to pad myself out somewhat as I'm tall but not that well built. We are sculpting it to be proportionally correct for Chiefs height, the character needs that slightly heightened reality feel to him so size, height and bulk are a must. Started with the legs. Once finished we will reuse the clay over a torso body cast.

All based off MKVI reference, in game, models, toys, the Bungie statue... you name it!

We are quite well practised at prop making, we have made a 1.85m Stargate replica, Senate Guard helmets and Ghostbuster packs. Always try to top the last project.

Really pleased with how its looking so far. Id love to do some sort of photo shoot, maybe a short few min film... something like that. Would be fun! especially if theres 4/5 of us, we shall see. Ill post regular updates. Hope you like it! Next up.. deep discussion about form and shape working towards a final finish.

The forum got corrupted somehow, so they reloaded from an older backup. They posted a thread about the problems, but it's gone so I'm guessing they reset it again.

I'm happy to see you're still with us, as I want to see how this project turns out.

As I said before, good opening shots! If you're at MCM Expo, you'll be able to see a lot of the gear we're making for Operation Chastity - hopefully you and the rest of the Garrison'll like some of the weapons. ;)

Just thought i would drop in, im from the other side of london, south east, and i am very interested in this thread and hope it all comes together. also im just an inch or two shorter than you and about the same build so i may be pming you at some point over sizing and issues that might affect us both. Also will you be casting this up multiple times?

Thanks everyone! Appreciate it.

manoverbored - the cast had a vaseline join so it easily came apart!

Thanks Peter, I think my reply to you was the last thing on my old thread. Im definatly going to the Expo whether this is complete or not... ill stop by and say hello. After seeing your Warthog last year im really looking forward to seeing what else youve got in store. Im sure we will mate :)

I fully intend to cast multiple suits from the master moulds, as I said... this is being created with the intention of having a 4/5 man squad in the UKG.

We have been beavering away this week, refining the shape, symmetry and detail... ill post some more pictures on Sunday!

I'm familiar with some of your previous projects, I really like your work. You don't belong in this section. Let me move this thread for you :)

Its nice to have experienced model makers and sculptors on the site.

Welcome.

wow, went from the n00b forum right to the elite showcase?!?!?!?! Wow, impressiveness. cant wait to see it finished.

When people do work like this, It becomes fairly obvious they are highly competent craftsmen.

I'm certain this project will be enlightening for less experienced members.

what the? NZTK, is that the stargate or somethin? what are you tryna show me?

Aaron, I believe that image of the stargate is another example of Sevv's work, showing us that he obviously isn't a noob.

Thanks for the recognition and the forum move NZ-TK, its great to hear we are getting some what of a reputation for ourselves :)

Id like to mention again this project, and all our previousones have done by both myself and Amy, my girlfriend. Whilst I normally post our threads its 50/50 work from us both.

Our Stargate project was done over 07/08... few more pictures:

Im really glad everyone likes our work, its been great fun so far. I suppose I better get back on, it wont sculpt itself! ill post some more pictures tomorrow evening.

Wow Sevv! Your work is incredible! Its really great to see an experienced sculptor on our side of the pond!

Everything looks fantastc so far, best of luck with everything! :)

While I believe Sew will most likely be an Elite once the suit is done, I must quote Ithica from another Elite thread:

Ithica said:
I just want to clear something up just in case someone was wondering. I moved the Helmet to the Elite section and not the whole suit. If I did the whole suit it would be breaking ruled because the suit is not finished and only finished props can go into Elite status. The Hayabusa Helmet is finished and worthy. The rest of the suit is just a continuation of his thread and hopefully will be part of the Elite section when it is done. With that all said congrats and well deserved.

Ithica

This is a thread about Sew's Mjolnir suit, not a thread about his prior work.

Edit: For his prior work he could get Veteran status and his thread moved to Molded armour discussion, would make more sense.
