Steel Noble 6 (Updated)

Hello there.

It's been a while since we posted our helmet here last. Apologies for those that left questions that we didn't get to. Didn't want to necro such an old thread.

Here is our updated armour. We are completely done with the steelwork for the thigh pieces, and are 95% done with the helmet and torso steelwork.

The helmet should look mostly the same, only a lot cleaner.

Next up we have the torso. It's probably going to open front and back, with a split down the middle. The blue taped areas are where we are going to have screens, LEDs or other displays. There's still a couple of backing plates needed for the torso, but again, very close.

Finally, the thighs, the newest addition. These came together pretty quickly recently. These are only missing the LEDs to fit in those cutouts. But we're going to do all the electronics all at once.

The shins and forearms are the next pieces to be worked on!

I remember this! Dude this is amazing! Do you have an estimate for how heavy this is going to be when its all done and finished?

Oh my... Being a former welding student this is something that I am most interested in. Looking forward to the next pieces.

Holy crow, a full suit in actual steel is insane!! Is it gonna be super heavy, or is it pretty thin steel? And do you guys plan to paint it or go with the plain steel vibes?

It looks AMAZING. I love the amount of details on the helmet.

Thank you! Despite being smaller than the torso, it easily has taken the most time so far. We've been pretty meticulous with it, as you can imagine

Hey, thank you. We're expecting it to be pretty easily 20kg, perhaps even more. Which sounds pretty scary, but we're going to try and mitigate it as much as possible by distributing the weight more evenly with an under suit/harness system

Neither of us have any formal welding training, funnily enough. More of a learn on the job skill, with lots of practice. We've got the shin pieces nearly done, and one of the gauntlets fairly close as well. Beyond that, we still have the biceps and the waist.

It's going to be fairly heavy, we're using 1.6mm thick mild steel. We wanted it to be fairly sturdy. The plan is to paint it, we're going for mostly stock, with some small customisations. Notably, Emile's knife, blast shield on the helmet, things like that.
keep up the good job spartan

Thank you brother
