i know there is pepakura, then resin, then fiberglass, but what is next? and when does detail come in? youtube mixes it all up so much. i dont want to mess up my project

Dont use youtube, its just full of dumb people that post badly formed rascist comments. Also they make really bad instructions, and dont know much about anything. Kind of like how "backyard effects" put up a segment about how to make halo armor, and this site got flooded with noobs who were complaining that they broke their printer by trying to put bondo inside it because they dont know what cardstock is.

Basically just read the stickies, or look at any suit build on this site, and you will find something relevant.

Also dont post threads with questions that are common knowledge here.

well, i am a "noob" that has been researching this for a month, searching websites, videos and the like, so if i still have some questions, im allowed to ask. i dont understand the term "stickies" and i see three projects on the home page.

stickies are where if you go into a forum section and there is a yellow icon that looks like a stickie note, also they are labled like (Sticky: "Help!" for:_______), i myself would do as much research on the amour your making as well as possible materials to use, before you buy anything make sure you got the right stuff wrote down that you need... also as far as questions go i would go through certain armour making posts and asking question there, as long as they havn't been asked be4, normally i pm the posts creator and ask them there

Do this first. Buy 110# cardstock, an exacto knife, and a cutting mat. Download the files you want, SCALE THEM PROPERLY (see link below), print, cut, test fit. Once you have your whole suit done, THEN get the fiberglass and bondo and all the good stuff to proceed. Otherwise it's just going to sit there as money spent, while you take the time to get the pieces to the proper scale (be prepared to spend MANY hours doing this). I've spent a ton of time just trying to get my pieces right, and have spent very little time glassing and bondo work. Just get the initial phase done first, and keep reading the forums and tutorials. You will learn a ton in the mean time, and also see if this is something that you can see through to the end. It's pretty awesome to see something that you have put together, but is pretty crushing when you spend a lot of time and get it wrong. Just do your homework (actually read the posts and STICKIES), and have some fun! That's what it's all about right?
