Stormtrooper Helmet Build

Hey everyone. I've been working on this project on and off the past couple months and thought I would finally share it with you guys. It's not done yet, as you will see, but it is getting there. This was my first build in years and the only one that has made it to the fiberglassing stage. I plan on completely finishing it so that I can wear it to future Star Wars related events, such as the new movies coming out! Enjoy!

here is a picture of the file in pepakura. It was one of the most accurate ones i could find.

The next few pictures are of the paper phase coming together. I decided to go from the bottom up seeing as my first attempt at making this helmet failed miserably when i tried to go top to bottom. The way the pieces form the dome makes it so that you almost have to do it last in order to line it all up.

And here is the helmet in completed paper form. I decided to NOT do the breather/respirator section, as well as other tiny details on the helmet because i simply think i could do a better job with other materials during phase 2. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it turned out considering I hadn't pepped in years.

Fast forward a couple months and I arrive at the fiberglass stage. I had never fiberglassed anything before, so some of it may look messy, but it's coming along. Whatever turns out messy, i'll just sand away the excess. Also, this is where i am currently at with the build. As it sits, the inside and outside have been completely coated with fiberglass resin, and the inside is about 3/4 of the way covered with fiberglass cloth. Thankfully, warping has been non-existent/ or minimal. Any suggestions for this stage would be appreciated!

Thanks, I appreciate it! It's funny how the Donald Trump cutout started off as a joke, and now my grandma has it on her refrigerator hahaha

UPDATE: I think i may have lost the hardener for the fiberglass resin. Lucky for me, the parts that weren't reinforced with fiberglass cloth aren't that important and i think i may be able to get by with just using bondo on those parts. If not, then i'll go back and reinforce it. As for now, i'm about to primer the outside of the helmet and see what needs to be sanded down before i add bondo!
