I was just thinking the other week on how to improve some of Colonial booths, and I think you've delivered the answer. I loved this thing down at HOD, it was a simple design, easy to transport, and easy to modify if needed. We had a lot of rifles just laying around last time, now it's time to change that ;)

So I finally got around to making 2 of the turtle racks this past month, and I can say that they are a HUGE improvement to keeping our booth more organized and clear of table clutter. Before I started building I gathered some ideas and changes that everyone would like to see to them. Below are some photos and details of the changes made:

First change was the helmet holders. I free hand re-designed them to be large weapon holders, with one having a 2" deep inset and the other having a 1" deep inset. This means it can hold longer UNSC weapons like the sniper, SAW, and DMRs.

Next I added an overhead flag/banner holder using 1/2" pvc pipe. It attaches to the back of the top board that runs horizontally using four 1/4" bolts and nuts, and the pvc pipes are hand tight and not glued for easy disassembly. Also added were 2 hooks on the side opposite of the gun rack. In the second photo you can see how this can be used to secure even larger props like hammers, SPNKrs, etc.

Added to the gun rack side was an eyebolt and coat hook. This allows a secure strap to go across and keep the guns safe from falling out or to keep people from walking over and just grabbing them willy nilly.

Here's a couple photos of them at the convention fully loaded. We loaded one with weapons we were ok with people using for photo ops, and the other was loaded and tucked behind the tables to keep folks from grabbing at them. This greatly reduced weapon casualties throughout the weekend, by keeping the more fragile or heavy weapons out of curious hands.

A few other changes not photographed include:
-Adjusted the rifle butt footplate angle to be only 5 degrees to reduce rifles from leaning to far forward, while keeping them from also falling backwards. Also lengthened the footplate so it reaches the back and front of the rack for more surface area.
-Changed color scheme to be Hunter Green, Charcoal Gray, and Satin Black to give a Halo 3 feel (Though this is purely just cosmetic)
-Added "wings" to the rifle butt footplate so the piece slides in as opposed to just sitting in the grooves.
-Closed 2 holes (one on a vertical board and one on the top horizontal board) to add future hooks for other props.
I can take more detailed photos in the future if needed.
During the con I was loaded with even more ideas on how to improve it for the next convention. Everything from pistol holsters, to secure lock boxes for personal affects, and even adjusting the flag holder to be more akin to the ones seen at HOD, where they sit at a 45 degree. SO expect more improvements and changes as time progresses ever forward!
