dude the phone in the arm is awesome! i never wouldve thot of somethin like that. i wanna see how that turns out. lookin good so far

Thanks man, that was a custom piece I made to take my Galaxay S3. I just wish someone would develop a voice app for android which converts a users voice into one of carter or masterchief etc. That would be awesome to integrate into a suit.

Big update coming tomorrow/Friday. Watch this space!

You're welcome bro. I may try to do somethin similar in my build if that's cool.

I'm with you. A voice changer to carter's voice would be bad@ss.
It wouldn't be quite the same but maybe some speakers connected to the phone with some lines of his from reach would be pretty righteous!

Yeah of course!! im pretty sure I am not the only one who has done this!

awesome, hey would you be so kind as to show me where you got the peps, or did you free hand this

Hey Bear, its a bit of both. Most of the files I have are Ruze and L3X and I have taken some form the data base as well.

I tend to use them as a base point and add my own touches if I feel I need to. The forearms were a base and then I added detail using foamies. There are some bits which are fully custom like the tactical computer on the left forearm, the sword and the attachments to the torso. Some files aren't great for foam but you just have to play it by ear.

Good luck and let me know if I can help!

As promised an update, not as big as I had joped but still something eh

started work on the rifle. Decided to make the main body out of cardboard and expanding foam and use the left over bits from foam edges

once I had dones the spacing and sealed off the magazine I stuck the other piece of cardboard on top and took it outside and filled it up with expanding foam.

once I had the rigid base, I stuck 1.5mm foam sheets all around it to have my base template. It was a lazy way of doing it but the results are better than I thought they would be. Plus it uses waste! Sitting there next to my sword should give a better indicator of the scale of both items.

I then decided to dress up because I wanted to feel awesome lol

Also played around with the sword.

marked up all the detail on the base of the rifle

I am now using 7mm foam to remove the flatness of the base

and have started the slow process of the detail work

and this is the current stage.

I hope you guys like what you see :) as always, feedback will be awesome!

Everything is looking good so far :)
And there is nothing wrong with dressing up to feel awesome lol. I do it all the time.
Keep up the good work :)

beaut work mate, can't wait to see the sword with details.

Thanks mate, are you watching the Ashes? They are playing in Nottingham and i use to Net at Trent Bridge. Couldnt get a ticket to support the Aussies :(

Sword wise, i plan to have the detailing done on that once i have ordered the lights (which i should have done ages ago but i end up being lazy lol ill try and order the lights this weekend. Ill be using the kindle clip onlights with 4 leds which gives me a ready made circuit and only costs like £2

Haha thanks mate, Carter is pretty damn cool it has to be said even though he is a Spartan 3. Been working on the barrel yesterday and will hopefully finish it today or tomorrow. Gonna paint everything in one go as I still need to do a lot of reading up on it so that it's efficient and cost effective.

That good sir is sexy for my eyeballs! *drools*

Thanks mate, it has taken a while and a lot of patience. Glad you like it!

Dude, like everything else in this build, it looks great. Great detail work as always.

Cheers buddy, as always feedback is much appreciated! Im going to start the detail work on the abs and cod soon. This will be followed by the sword and that will be everything done. Then its lighting, mounting and painting! Not long now. FIngers crossed it will be ready for Halloween :D

How do you plan on making the sword? Vaccuform? Buying a kit? Plastic casting?

i have made the base with foam and its built around a strong bit of bamboo (pages 6 & 7). I might pva it and then put the smooth cast stuff on it so that it turns to plastic. In the UK the Police are VERY sensitive to things that look like weapons so i dont want it to look too realistic.

I do plan on having an enegy tip at the end of it and my current thinking is to get a block of arcylic and have it cut to the right size so it has a frosty finish and then i will drill a hole in it and stick a couple of LED's inside that so its glows and attach it at the end of the sword. I think it will have the effect that i am looking for.

Hey guys, been a while since I last posted. Don't worry, I have been working on the suit now and again when time allows it! The little things take the longest! Added the collar detail to the suit, enhance the detail on the back as well as added detail to the chest. Improved the cod piece by covering it up with foamies and we are almost there.

here are picture I had taken when I tried it this evening. Still needs to have most of the mounting done and some work around the knee joints done to allow for slightly better movement and bit more detailing on the back on the ABS piece. Not long until its time to paint!

enjoy and as always feedback is always appreciated!

Wow! The suit looks absolutely phenomenal, and the dmr is incredible. The color scheme right now makes me chuckle, but I'm sure when it's done, it'll be one heck of a suit. How's mobility by the way?
