Hey guys, new here and need some expert advice, i'm looknig at making a Halo CE Marine or an ODST Marine. Can anyone tell me which would be better for someone who has no exprience in large scale modeling? I've searched the forums here and saw two or three options, foam/cardboard, fiberglass and vaccum Formed. Still not sure which would be better do and use to make. If someone could please help me on this decision and which is best for newer people it'd be great.

Welcome to the 405th!
Might i suggest the ODST? Hugh Holder has a great model for it. Very easy to make compared to others Also, from what i've seen, i think the fiberglass method is the way to go.

The marine option, i think is just a bit harder, but still badass. This link is filled with files for just about every piece of armor, including marine.

But before starting, may i suggest going to the Noob Forum and reading the Stickies? They help a ton and will answer all your questions.

Have Fun

Blue Fox has a point. There are dozens of ODST builds, with more appearing all the time, but hardly any Marines. Let alone CE-era marines... Don't get me wrong, ODSTs are badass, but for an "elite unit" there sure are a lot more of them than standard ground-pounders, haha!

As for methods, you could go with foam or pepakura/fiberglass. Foam is more expensive up-front because of the cost of the foam, but Pep/Fiberglass is more expensive overall, both in money and time. Also, the Pep/Fiberglass way requires a respirator, a well ventilated area to work in, and is, from what I can tell, a bit harder than foam armoring.

Well guys I think I'll got with an CE-era Marine being tey could deal and take alot more brutality and punishment then any of the of the other marines(except for ODSTS).
