So, yeah.
I have a friend who really likes this webcomic thing called Homestuck. I don't really know anything about it, but it sounds like Dr Seuss on acid. Nevertheless, I've decided to make something for her and she requested the Warhammer of Zillyhoo. A pretty silly name for a silly prop. Here's a reference picture:
I told you! Weird. But she's a friend, and I'll make it for her as a late Christmas present. Luckily, there is a pepakura file for it, making things much easier on me.
I've found that the file isn't 100% accurate with the reference pictures, but I don't care that much. I'm sticking with foam for this, because it's lightweight, and super easy for me to make things out of. This is a pretty simple thing to make, the whole front section is a bunch of squares (really easy), and the back part is easy to get templates for, since I have the pep file. I've used a dowel rod for the handle, and I just pepped the star piece. Not super sure what I'll do for the ball, I'm sure I can get a wooden ball from Home Depot or something. Anyway...

Side shot:
How the dowel connects to the hammer:
And the star piece:
I'll cut the pieces for the back part once I get back to school (band saw is prefect!). I can tell right now that this will be incredibly difficult to paint, but hey...
