Weta Odst Neck Problem :(

hey guys, quick question. I was picking up back on my WETA Odst suit and i assembled the neck (i scaled it to my height 64/belakor's 71) and noticed i couldn't put it on over my head, but it fit around my neck just fine. i looked at the model by Skullkandy girl, and noticed it fit under the neck, but didn't seem to have enough space to clear the head. So i'm wondering if my head is just too big, i modeled it too small, or you can't assemble it whole, but have to resin/glass/bondo it in two separate neck pieces that flex and attach together. Here some pics to help u interpret this word jumble i've concocted.

The model:

it on me:( its not completed, so i used tape to hold it together, but it still wont go on unless i undo it)

anything to help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

I'm guessing that you should seperate the back piece and chest piece, similar to on the MKVI chest. That would allow for a more comfortable neck, yet not so big it would wobble around.

I have not done the chest piece though, so I couldn't tell you for sure

First picture in my weta ODST blueprints thread...
Here

The weta ODST torso piece is separated on each side, pretty much in the middle. The actual one is held together with by a dynamic-tension type method, but you could probably make velcro work too. But it is split on both sides of the neck.

so in other words, i should cut the torso down the middle and assemble it, and wear it as two pieces attached together?

Look at the first pic/drawing in the link that Ruze provided. The lower edge of the torso piece should line up with the bottom part of your rib cage.

I'm not sure, that seems to be really small.
As a group we've been basing the scale directly off of WETA's design, and using SKG's thread.
However ours seems to be much larger than yours;

My head does not fit directly through, I have to look to the left, and down in order to get it over my head, but yours seems considerably smaller.
However ours are scaled to fit people who are in or around 6 feet tall. (I'm 6'3" and it fits me fine)

Oh, our reference from WETA was this photograph;

Our collar is based off of theirs, which as you can see, is almost the same as ours. Basing the front of the collar to the chin.

i scaled it from 71 inches. heres what i did:
1. i divided my height by by 71 64/71
2. then, with the number i got, i multiplied it against the number in the scale value in pepakura
3. that result is what my scale value i assembled my piece with was

Yes, we did the same thing, I believe the 71 was Belakors height of.. 5'9"? I dont remeber his height, lol.
We did the division value of
<div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'>74/71 (74 = 6'2") 1.04
23.785851*1.04
= 24.73728504</div>
and the last line is the line we pasted into Pep.

So by yours, I assume you did
<div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'>64/71 = 0.90
23.785851*0.90
= 21.4072659</div>
So thats the number you should be using from what I know.

Although visually from your picture it still does seem awkwardly small o_O
My math might also be wrong there, its still early in my world, so I'm tired. =P

yeah, thats what i did. and it still came out small. maybe it is correctly sized, but i just have a big head lol
