i was thinking of trying expanding foam instead of hot glue to fill the pep forms. has anyone tried this?

Hot glue isnt meant to fill pep work. It's meant to make it more durable. so yes, try expanding foam

If you mean fillingthe inside of a pep completely then that depends on what you are doing. If it's a helmet and you don't plan on wearing it you can resin it and fill it with red clay and probably make a mod of some kind but I'm new to that kind of question and it's not fully phrased so I don't quite know how to fully answer it.

I was pondering that. It should do to fill small cavities, such as the inside visor of the Mk. V helmet.
