What keeps the shoulders on your shoulders?

at REI we sell some straps designed for backpack repair but they would work great for armor too. They come in several sizes and you can get them for about a 150 pennies for the size for arm coverings.

:shock: Those are pretty fancy looking for Webstraps, I like.

I usually buy mine around 10 at a time (from teh evil Walmart). It took me 12 for the entire upper body of my H1 suit. If you're doing the Mk VI, you should only need around 6-8.
 
the main killer for price is the fact that it is all together. If you buy webbing, some buckles, and fasion them your self, it would be a little cheaper, but REI is pretty close to whole sale costs on this stuff, so for the money, its a good deal. The straps are strong plus you get the lifetime satisfaction garuntee, if it breaks, they replace it.
