I'm going to try to use this post as a collaboration of my work so far. I will just keep editing this first post so that all links and all pics and all information is in this first part.

-----UPDATE SEPT 28-----

Ok so I've been working on bondoing my helmet and right now i'm frustrated with it......it looks like crap in my opinion. It's a complete PITA. I dont know how you all get your stuff looking so smoot with bondo but I cant get it the way I want it for the life of me. It may have something to do with the fact that I'm sanding it mainly with a rotary tool and sand paper (and out of htose it's mainly the rotary tool). Another reason may be that I just use bondo...I dont use the rondo method. As you will see in the pics I do have a couple of holes to fix AND the back is just completely awful!. I do have a little bit more bondoing to do....but that back, ugh i hate it! And yes I do need to make the light housings yet. I also do need to buy some spot putty...haven't got that yet

-----SEPT 23------

Ok so I have my helmet and right bicep pepped, resined, and fiber glassed. I just need to get some bondo to do the next part on them. This is the helmet that I almost FUBARed cause I was sanding off ALL the paper. Hopefully I didn't ruin it too much and can salvage it once I can get some bondo. If you're wondering with the side light housings aren't it, it's because the peps didn't really fit in it so I'm going to custom make them (somehow). I think the Bicep may be a taaaad too big, what do you all think?

And dont make fun of my fatness :p

Looks good to me, I agree with Macattack. Master chief is pretty jacked, and like 7 ft tall. Keep up the good work man, and keep adding your progress! :D

Ok so far 2 with a thumbs up, 1 with a thumb down. We'll see where else this goes :)

It's hard to get it to stay anywhere tho :S, i'm sure thats cause there is not padding and it's not attached to any material yet tho

You're talking about the bicep, correct? I'm at that stage too. Pepped and ready to go with the biceps and forearms. The Biceps aren't staying, and they really won't. You'll just have to keep trucking like I'm trying to.

I spent today finishing the rest of my right bicep. and now it's 12:41 and I just finished my homework.

I think the bicep looks fine. You could always glass a clip in it and put the other half on your undersuit (hidden behind the bicep) to help keep it in it's proper location.

its not the bicep that looks too big... its the bloody helmet.. its too small in comparison.

Im still baffled as to how you got the thing on ur head.

Lol it's a tight fit thats for sure. I can get it on but it's a tight squeeze

Yeah you might wanna redo that helmet alittle bit bigger... remember you wanna have space enough for a visor and electronics (if you plan on installing fans, a COM system, and LEDs) and a liner :]

The bicep looks good though, keep up the good work!

I think I'm going to continue the helmet and see how it turns out. It's good practice for one. For another I may give it to one of my friends as a gift.

I'm not at the bondo stage on a helm yet. I've used bondo on many a car though. It takes time. Lots of time. A mouse sander would be a very good investment to make. Your second best friend behind the rotary tool. The helm looks good but you do still need to work on it. Take your time.

Well I think it's looking pretty good!

I dun see anything wrong with the sizing,, but maybe thats just me

But what's the Rondo method? I aint heard of that before!

Rondo is here http://405th.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8253 . Essentially it's mixing resin with body filly to make it kinda muddy and runny. It helps get a smoother finish without all the work of sanding (i'm sure there is prolly still sanding involved though.

Bro, don't be so hard on yourself =( I think it looks goo so far.... nothign alittle bit of epoxy putty/slightly more bondo and sanding wont handle.

My opinion (adding onto what Tracy said), try getting some sanding blocks (sponges) and do some wet sanding. I would first recommend getting a mouse/palm sander, that contraption is totally worth the money 10 times over.

May I ask why you dont use Mud?
