1st Build Winree’s First Build

Day 9:

Ran out of filament over night so I had to grab some spare at work today so basically wasted most of todays resources on that BUT I got some more of the chest done with the final lower piece going right now. Also trimmed some pieces on the m6c bringing it to its fully complete status! Just need to sand out some rough spots and paint it. I do plan to print some custom caps to cover the ugly trigger rod holding it together. I also took some of yalls advice and ordered 3 spools of Bambu petg so that’ll be here soon!

Lastly, I added some inserts from my old military helmet into the odst helmet to fit test and it’s beautiful. I’m so glad I printed at 100% scale rather than 95%. Tomorrow we will run the last spool dry!

Day 11:

I ran out of filmament, but my next order should be here any day now. I’m changing from PLA to PETG after hearing recommendations from a lot of different people about it. I’m not too worried about the heat resistance of it but if I can avoid and mitigate any risk, then I might as well since I won’t be losing any extra money on it really.

Day 12:

Nabbed my last roll of filament from work to hold me over until my PETG arrives tomorrow. Was able to get the codpiece and butt printed and started 1 grenade to hopefully just finish this roll off strong.

Day 13:

Was able to get the butt, cod, 2/6 back pieces, some boot pieces, and a shoulder done yesterday and today! Amazing progress

WOW I suck at using the forums. OKAY!

Helmet has been finished and made its first appearance at C2E2 along with ALL OF THE ARMOR having been printed for a little. I am going to try and prep all of it this weekend for painting. I want it all done in time for Fan Expo Dallas

I swear I need to pick up one of these newer printers. All of mine are from the "built-in bed probing is still new" generation. The helmet and the Magnum look so clean!

Its so worth the investment man. I can print a benchy with perfect quality in 20 minutes LOL. Thank you for the compliments! The armor is going to look so good and its the perfect starting point for me to learn as I go without the learning curve of the printer itself. More time to learn how to paint o_O

Build party with Blaze this weekend. Got a lot of it pieced together, sanded, and primed! The lower legs are looking great and fit a little big as expected but will be fine with foam inside.

(Also yes I know my lawn is long my landlord hasn't buried a power line and I refuse to mow over it until he does. I promise the other half is mowed lmao)
