You know, it would save me the time & headache of making my chest from pepakura if you were to do a run of chest pieces...hmmm. ;)

It's looking good bro. All the pieces you've made so far are lookin pretty sick. Keep it up. And hey, I know how frustrating it can be when you wanna keep working on this thing, but money is clearly an issue. Just prioritize, don't rush, and make sure you got food in you're belly first and foremost know what I mean ;) lol. But yeah, good job man.

Hey guys finally got around to start molding the front chest. I'm using recycled silicone from an old mold i cut it into pieces. It's good for filling or thickening the new mold, updates will follow so here is a quick pic

Ahhh of course why did I not think of this!? I have done it before on a smaller scale but didn't think to use the same method again for my next set of moulds. My old Ironman mould is going to be chopped up this week :)

Casts are looking really nice by the way. Looking forward to seeing more :)
+1

Tom.

Thanks guys for the comments

Ok, so I have coasted the front. It is quite heavy so I'll have to sand the thick spots to lighten the load a bit. The front is thick enought i can stand on it without breaking but i still need to thicken the corners that are still thin. Im still thinking about making a fibre glass front and back for light weight.

So let's see the cast

Uhm... WOW!

I wanted to comment on this part of your thread first, ITS GENIUS! While I have that inner raging grammar nazi, your artistry has come LEAGUES and MILES from when you first started. And all the bad things that happened to you back then, I just wanted to help you out at some point there man! Your story is that of a Phoenix!!

I just had to post on your sliding locking of your part there... mind if I steal the idea for my armor?

YOU ROCK.

Thanks man I have gone a long way especially if you look at the chest peice from page 2 back then I thought that was good.
The idea for the sliding gauntlet peice was from thorrsoli, I have learnt a lot from him so I based my build following what I have learnt from elite builds and the occasional noob build,
I'll be back once I have both sides joined and ready to mold the next peice of armour
Until then
Daniel

Sorry guys for the lack of updates I've been waiting on a few things to come from overseas as you can see

Now I'm making another cast of the chest peice with the micro cells so it becomes light weight. Update tomorrow.
Daniel

Hey guys, so as I said and here's an update
I did a lot of work but it was in all the little things,

As you can see I made a cast of the back chest peice and I had slight dent from the silicone jacket not properly sitting in the fibreglass jacket

To fix this I thinned out on the other side till it got so thin I could jam a few chopsticks to raise it back up again (bottom left)

I poured another small amount of smoothcast in it and waited for it to dry, then I removed the chopsticks and TA DA.
Then when I finished it I didn't realise how much of a mess I made

Until next time
