Update: Well, my skills with hot glue are becoming more polished, and the Green(Dragon) Ranger helmet is coming along nicely. Once I'm finished with it, I'll start on the 3d model for the Wolzard helmet. Pictures of current progress will be posted. (If that's allowed by forum rules)

This project is temporarily on hold... I'm building the pep for dungbeetle's green ranger helmet, so I can get a feel for what needs to be done regarding the wolzard model.

That render is great! *downloaded* I certainly look forward to the rest of your helmets, and I'm sorry about your PC crashing. D: Also, if you don't mind me asking this here... I seem to be having some trouble with modeling my own PR helmet, specifically the helmet that Koragg has as Knight...

Unfortunately, I seem to be having trouble with finding an efficient method for modeling the helmet. If anyone has some advice for modeling helmets in Maya, it would be a great boon. For right now though, I shall continue with my current method, to see if that still works.

I think a thin coat of polyurethane resin should do it. Plus, it'll increase the strength.

This project certainly looks like it has some promise. Creepy, puke green/yellow, pulsating and twitching progress... umm, promise. I love the ODST helmet, Darkwolf, great detail... I'm thinking of joining in on this, and I wanted to offer some advice I gathered from Thorssoli's Mk VI...

Ah, okay. Thanks for the great advice! The only problem is the fact that I can't find any suppliers! D: Oh well, I guess I'll be off scouring the interwebs for something remotely local so I don't destroy my budget on shipping costs alone. Thanks again!

Interesting information, and it certainly makes sense... I've never thought about it though. So much for my curiosity. :sleep On the topic of alternate fibers, though... If I wanted to use Spectra fiber, could I simply chop up some spectra fiber fishing line and use that? Or would it be too...

If I wanted to use one of those high-strength substitutes, like SpectraFiber, where would I purchase it in the same format as fiberglass? I've only found it being used in fishing line, fiber optics, and extremely expensive protective clothing.
