Hey everyone starting in 2019 I began my first full armor build. I've always wanted an ODST set so this it the year I make that happen. I have made a lot of progress on the helmet. I printed it on my prusa i3 mkII in PLA. Just finished all the clean up work and its primed and ready for paint. Next up is the visor. I have some PETG plastic on going to vacuum form over a reinforced 3d printed buck. And dye it with some help from some videos from muh boy Bill over at punished props academy. Once I 100% the helmet it will start on the foam smithing. Would love to hear some feed back, heres a photo dump. Sorry All the Images are out of order >.<

Looks good man! I get my 3d printer this Friday and I'm dying to start a project! I've been wanting to build a helmet for the past 6 years now, and I'm getting close to making it a reality! Clean helmet though! I plan on doing an ODST and yours is definitely going to be my inspiration. Just curious, what were your printer settings? What nozzle, speed, height, etc? Thanks!

It is completely dependent on the printer you are using. My nozzle settings in simplify 3D are the default for the Prusa i3 mk2. But I have various settings for the first layer that give me good bed adhesion the particular brand of PLA im using. If this is your first printer I would recommend checking out Maker's Muse on youtube Maker's Muse he's a great resource for people new to 3d printing. It might take a while to get good print but I'm sure you can do it!

This is the model I printed. Its broken up into parts. Halo ODST helmet by lin0004

Best of luck! Let me know how it goes!
