hey guys i have been trying diffrent ways to make the helmets i build in diffrent ways as far as not using fiberglass resin
to make the pep models hard.
now this doesnt go without the exception of bondo body filler. that is a must for detail.
anyways here is a list of things i have used and got great resaults.
(TruckBed Spray) that stuff will make your helmets just as hard as fiberglass resin. it not only will make the helmets hard but it will weather proof them as well. a great alternitive $7.99 at any autozone/wal-mart.
i use it on both the outside and the inside of my helmets and 1 can will give you a thickness of about 2-3 inch thickness
on both sides. adding another can will deffenetly give you strength to you helmets and adding bondo after will not melt the plastic because the formula used in the truckbed spray is strong enough to withstand alot of heat.
i have even used fiberglass along with the truckbed spray and it didn't melt anything so you may want to combine the two for added thickness. as a builder it's upto you.......... here is a pick of 2 helmets i am working on that use the truckbed spray and they look great.....
