Hello. Sorry for creating a new topic for a question, but I have no idea whether my respirator is working or not. People keep saying how they wear the respirator because of the smell, but I can still smell the resin through my respirator. It's a McCordick G70 dual cartridge half mask respirator. Heres a pic:

Hey there, im pretty certain that you shouldn't be able to smell the resin through your respirator. Make sure you check that you have the right filter, there are different ones for respirators like paint particles and organic materials.

You're absolutley right better safe than dead!

ya, I agree. Check to see about organic vapors and also change out the filters if they've been used a lot.

Yes, the straps are adjusted. No, it has not been overused, I just opened the package today.

If you cover up the filters, can you still breathe? This might be easier to check if you remove the filters first so you just have to cover the "sockets".



If you can still breathe *at all* with them covered, you don't have a good seal. If you have a good seal and you can still smell the resin, then it sounds like the filters aren't up to spec. You need ones that filter out particulates and organic vapours.
