looks good rose
but you do need to make the edges sharper ;) only the top haze a rounded curve. :p

but i think you already know that.
looks. good. was gone start my rifle project this weekend. also cause summer vac begun here today for me.

@Macattack: As far as making a mold, I wouldnt know. Ive never molded anything before. But I have a feeling it wouldnt work... and for the layering, It would be best if you did it in small layers. From todays experience: thin layers fully cure in about 30-45 minutes, Thick layer take up to 2 hours to cure.

Thick Layer Pro: while it takes it's time to cure you can squish it around and make it perfectly smooth.

Thick Layer Con: It takes forever and a day to fully dry.

Thin Layer Pro: Takes no more than an hour to fully dry.

Thin Layer Con: Once you spray or lay it down thats how it's gonna dry... usually bumpy..

@typeZERO: Yeah I'm quite aware lol. I haven't sculpted the rubber yet, I was gonna save that for tomarrow, the sun is already goin down so I dont have much of a choice right now lol.

I don't mean for making a mold... I mean for using it to make a sorta treaded sole for a boot or something...

I guess I might have to try it for myself...

Again, I'm sorry for the double post but I couldn't help myself... Here is a teaser picture:

And this is just the beginning of my long weekend. Please, Oh Please tell me what you think.

Note that this picture was just taken after a quick spray of primer... I have NOT evened out the the rubber just yet, I'll do that tomarrow. If you want to check the accuracy, Pull up a picture of a SR in H3 and compare it to my picture. I am SOOO freakin giddy right now :D

Well, well... I'm definately liking what I'm seeing there, girl. I think we can expect some great things to come of this project over the course of the long weekend, heh.

It's kewl you managed to actually rubberize the grip and stock (aka "butt end", lol). That'll help to ease the handling of the piece. The primer really helps to show the overall smoothness of the bondo, too.

What colours have you chosen/found for your SR? o_O

Well the poll saying I'll be finalizeing the paint job as Black and grey....I'll be following the reference pics I have for that... But, that is still pretty far away lol.

If you all excuse me, I now have to call 911 because of the burns I have just given myself because I was lighting fireworks under the influence of Grey Goose :cautious: OUIE!!

I dont know why you ever feel sad about your SR kell because ever time I see a new picture of it I just go WOW shes good ;)

Ah, UPDATE TIME! I didnt get as far as I had hoped, partly because of bad weather and partly because Comedy Central kept playing awesome stand up specials all weekend lol. Which means my biggest drawback has been the making of the body templates..... damn. The pictures below do NOT do my work justice, however. I blame the spastic/aweful job I did with the spray paint.... As you will see in the pictures, my SR seems to be different colors. It doesnt mean my work isnt smooth (becasue it is :cautious:) I just had to quickly spray paint before the rain started. Makes me abit dissapointed but theres always next weekend for improvement :rolleyes

DSC01431.jpg

the "body" shot here shows how I neglected to sand the legs down and I still dont have any part of the front nearly done... there is still alot of sanding, bondoing, sanding, bondoing, sanding, cursing, bondoing..... etcetcetc...

DSC01433.jpg

This picture is crappy in every sense. And I'm not sure why I took this picture. Enjoy...

DSC01430.jpg

Here is the "Stock" in all its battle damaged rubbery glory! I'm gonna add some more rubber to it eventually but for now its not a priority.

DSC01434.jpg

This is the underside of the stock to show how centered and balanced I have everything. Yes I'm aware that the very back end seems crooked but I asure you it isnt. I am able to stand the whole rifle on the back end and have it not fall over, so I know it's well balanced :D

DSC01435.jpg

Oh man does this look bad... I wasnt planning on working on the legs in anyway but after so much excess Mud, I used what I had left to slop onto the legs... I have not sanded them much at all and I dont even have rondo covering all sides of the legs. The top circular part thingy is also halfassed, I got it to be round on top and I just need spot putty on that and I need to shape the front of it. The bulgy part of the 1/2 PVC pipe isnt completed either, I need to make a cone for the front of it so it looks right... And I havnt carved all the detail into that piece either.

DSC01432.jpg

Why does the color look so weird? Eh, who cares.

I also never got around to workin on the scope. I only have the real scope fixed in place permanently, nothign special.

I know alot of people here were expecting more from me after 4 full days of being off work.... My Bad lol

I don't think i've quite chimed in here yet. But I will now, to tell you that this is one of the best SR props i've seen. Nice work!
