freaking amazing BRI. Maybe you should think about spraying on a gray primer to see if you missed some spots? im so excited to see your finished product i can hardly wait!!

btw i know its off this threads topic but did you get the boots yet?

Wooh! Thanks everyone! Ive been killin myself over this build, I'm glad to hear that I'm not disapointing with my first ever project lol.

@tenacious: EDIT: I just bought the boots lol :]

3/4 airsoft guns I own have rubber buttpads. I enjoy the rubber, it makes it seem classier, but you don't really notice it against your shirt/vest/armor.

ugh those gashes are gonna be a pain to sand out...more bondo does not help as much as you would think :(

just look at my CQB helm. its crap, with craters everywhere on it, so you have to sand sand sand your way to glory!!

just stay upwind from that stuff, it gets everywhere.

for the smaller imperfections use spot putty, its like bondo but not quite as strong and is only one part.
Keep up the good work BRI.

Thanks for the kind words and little tips. I'll be goin to the hardware store today to get some spot putty. If I get the "butt" sanded smooth today I'll be able to apply the rubber and carve detail into it before the weekend. If all goes as planned, I'll be spending the weekend mudding the rest of the SR and maybe finishing the ....uh... hand grasp thingy?....where the trigger is lol. This SHOULD be a very productive week but we all know how slow I can be lol.

Well it's the end of the week, again. I have managed to finish the main body work as far as making everything super smooth, I still have some work to do on the underside of the rifle.... mainly the grip/trigger thingy, I still need to mud and sand that area. I have found a SUCCESSFUL liquid plastic that I'm using for the "Butt" and the Grip (when i'm done with the sanding, of course). In the pictures it looks weird because I havn't got a smooth plastic surface yet. It was experimental and I'll be goin back to Home Depot for a much bigger supply of this stuff to finish everything up :]

Let me know what you think of the plastic. I can still take it off at this stage (even though I think it looks cool  ) if it is deemed ugly. I never got around to the specific detail (I told you it would be a miracle if I got that far lol) because I'm not done with the rubber. Ok I think I have explained everything up to this point. PEEKCHARS NAO!

This is a pretty random picture hahaha. I wanted to sow off the smooooooth underbelly I guess lol.

Le Butt. Again, looks weird because its not smoothed. And it was a trail/experimental piece.

Skedouche.

Over the next week i'll be workin on the Butt some more and I might actually get around to primering and paining the main body *gasp*... heh, wishful thinking :rolleyes
