that kind of looks like spot glazing putty that got real hot and dried out

it's not.

and the little red part that shows is the cardstock.....so i'm guessing the heat raped my SR and ripped it apart through card, resin, bondo, putty.... *GASP* do you think this is the Primers fault?!?!?!?

I left it outside in the 100 degree weather for 30 minutes to cure some mud I just put on... and i came back and BAM .... it hit me like a ton of bricks.....

It's cracked all the way threw.... and it seems to have peeled itself apart...and trying to put it all back together..... it jus wont stay.....

Is there any way to put some wire mesh inside so the resin/bondo will stay on?

the primer would act as a sealant, not something that would destroy it.

i am tryin to help- observe the damage, see what can be salavaged, and reseal the parts that need to be resealed. YOU CAN SAVE IT, but you need to get it out of the heat.

I really dont want to even crack a minute bit of the body off because i'm afraid it will all fall apart...

I put it in my room under the AC about 10 minutes ago.... i'm gonna go look at it right now and just hope it fixed itself.....

Yeah maybe try to add a new "thick" layer of bondo on top of the cracked one. Once it's completely cured, resmooth everything.

that damage is irreversible, something expanded to the point where it split open.


if its painted, remove some of the flaking paint and see how deep the damage goes, you can probably stuff some fiberglass patches in there for support.

That's what I think, since the cracked places are not very detailed, just curved, remove the brken places, put in some wire mesh, with some fiberglass mat attached underneath, then resin and bondo.

calm down. its too late to reverse the damage, everything has cured already. prep the ER for surgery, you need to remove the cancer before it spreads. Try to take out the damaged areas while keeping the surrounding places intact. then, see if you can get a different medium to replace the parts (like wood or replacement pepakura parts with reinforcement).

Yeah I would remove the whole part with a dremel, and re do it. :S

I thing rvb4life and I have the same idea, but I think wire mesh is your best bet, just put in some fiberglass mat undereath it to hold the resin on, and for strength. The mesh is for the shape.

I think rvb and radio have the right idea. Remove the pieces and reglass it. Slap some bondo on and smooth it out. It'll be ok. You'll get it fixed. I have faith in you and your work.

see, i knows my stuff, that model has small replacement segments for a reason (not the same reason though lol)



just make a replacement part, like a car, and remove the bad stuff. It's not lupus, you can be saved.
